This seems rather ironic (comical?) given the fact that these forums contain and support several NSFW topics of conversation. Maybe it's just me.

Well I agree also, (a bit.) Basically because if you really want to abide by some of these post, the "Rear Ends" and "Breast" threads could also be considered porn and therefor shouldn't be on this forum. It doesn't bother me either way.

Can't dance, can't drink, can't swear, can't look - who cares? God, next we won't be able to talk about guns!

Let's keep it real; talking about guns does NOT carry the same effect both in the moral and civil sense that porn and it's related topics do. One bike forum I used to frequent (but NOT the particular thread) hosted a section on underage and teen soft core porn. The moderator and I got into a very heated discussion and long story short I was tossed out permanently, but not before I assured him that I would make the contents of "his" forums public to every sex crime task force agency I could get my hands on. Guess what; several months later I visited the forum and the entire "free speech" section was gone. Seems the prospect of having your butt in jail (or worse) gets to working on even the most pompous and self-righteous after a while.

I guess its a little subjective but even the NSFW topics on this forum are not pornographic. they show scantily clad women but not nudity. kind of like buying a Maxim magazine (anyone can buy) and a Hustler magazine (only 18+ can buy) I kind of like it this way. If i want to see porn my first choice is not a motorcycle forum anyway.
regarding the political side of it i was at first kind of pissed of about that but with the recent happenings in the news (shootings, election, terrorist attacks, federal budget discussions, etc) im kind of glad (for both sides) that there is a forum I can go to without feeling like there is a battle brewing. for whatever it is you are looking for..there is a site for that.

Read the forum rules, it lists what is considered pornographic and what is not. As long as certain parts are covered the forum does not consider it pornographic (to the point it can't be posted)

And yeah I saw Darkstar started posting up again a little while back, it's nice to see some of the originals coming back lately. They are the ones that made this forum the community it is

first, is darkstar still on here? i've not read anything by him for what seems like years, and 2nd, what is NSFW?
Yeah, apparently. I think he posts 3-4 times per year but nothing like he use to. He's a wealth of information on hiatus. Mostly police stuff now a days. He had one of the nicest/powerful Warrior on the forum. Beautiful blue including the frame, then he went redish with it, then on to the dark side. As "super moderator" he could slap you down and call you "my friend" all in the same sentence. I guess you can say "210 on stock wheel" so many times before you burn out and fade away.

I think Darkstar is here frequently doing admin things in stealth mode. And his Warrior was great until it kissed the pavement at Warriorfest, and he had it repainted a BRIGHT HARLEY ORANGE, then he bought a Harley.

I still wonder who would be faster on a Harley: Centerline, DarkStar or Shaq.

So, did some topics disappear? I saw a warning on the Rear End post. At least I think that was the topic. Those topics have always disappear because people cross the defined line. That one did last a long time. Did someone also get kicked out the forum this time? I hope so, I was enjoying that thread.

There's a BIG difference between "Not safe for work" and Porn. This is not a new rule, it's been in effect for over ten years. The former owner, Carknee, and the current owner, Vertical Scope, do not/did not want pornography on their site. Plain and simple. If this is new to you then read the rules because you obviously haven't yet.

Noize, no one has been removed from the forum, we just saw an increase in some people intentionally crossing the line and thought we'd give a public warning before we started giving out time-outs for it.
