your kill switch is multifunctional. it also resets any trouble codes that have been corrected & are stored in the computer, look at your wireing diagram

 

BE CAREFULL! The Warrior doesn't like anyone messing with its' electrical system. Just because it is a Kill Switch doesn't mean it isn't serving another purpose in the system. For example, the rear turn signals are required to have the ECU operate correctly. I wouldn't do it.

 

Daytona, WHat is the rear directionals & ECU correlation? I dont have any rear turn signals hooked up, does that mean that my ECU will not operate correctly? How exactly will that effect my bike? What do guys that arent running signals do to remedy this?

install little bulbs and hide them or else you could be overloading your ecu with power it dosnt know what to do with ,which could result in frying your ecu . check to see how warm it is after a ride,if its hot thats not good.

Daytona, upon further review...

What if I rode on the freeway for a few hours without using my turnsignals the entire ride. How is that different from removing the signals all together? I dont believe that they are lit at all when the bike is running and your not signaling a turn.

 

its like having a live wire laying around your living room ,sooner or later somethings going to go wrong.

 

So how about the kick stand kill switch does it work by grounding or disaconnecting (floating)??? Thanks

 

After looking at the wireing diagram, I'm gonna say floating.(but don't hold me to it.) That switch operates as open and close so it doesn't need a ground. Make sure this is correct befoe you do anything.

 

Crap, that last reply was for the kickstand switch. Sorry I didn't specify. The same may go for the kill switch. Once again, it only provides a break in the circuit.

 

Thanks! Now I can finish the install. I have it working but not the kill function. I'll try to verify that. It could be on open and close to the ground. If only I had a tester I could see if the circut is open or closed while up.

 

I'm going out on a limb again. I'll say that the circuit is closed with the kickstand up. Take a look at it. There is a little plunger that pushes in when you put the stand down. Inside, there should be a set of contacts. When you put the stand down, it pushes the plunger in and seperates the contacts. This is what makes the ciruit open. Try to start the bike, in gear, with the stand down. Ain't gonna happen. BTW, I have a little experience in DC wireing but I'm a residential electrician of 11 years. A lot of the same principals apply when you find the main rules to abide by.
