Dealer called me last night around 5:30. Said the bike will be ready today. Great.

Phone rings at the house about an hour later. It's Yamaha in California. The guy gets into his customer-service-spin about, "we're so sorry, but I have to tell you -- we still have absolutely no idea when your part will be shipped to the dealer.... we apologize and want to get you back on the bike as soon as possible, blah blah...."

I let him go on for about three minutes telling me the usual BS about how they're trying to get the parts out as soon as they can, I am on a priority list, maybe next week, etc.

I say - "that's nice. Hey, my bike will be ready tomorrow."

Silence on the other end, followed by the sound of air sucking through teeth.

I am convinced -- corporate headquarters is totally clueless.

Called me on my cell-phone -- weekly -- with a status, "we don't know where your part is, we're doing everything we can, blah blah blah." Yep - they did. I called every Monday - religiously - and left them with, "call me mid-week." They did.
