powerdad3;I've had them on my bike for about 6 months and love them riding this bike for more than an hour was torture before I installed them(I,m 6'2'').You'll notice it requires more pedal pressure to apply the rear brake,especially to lock up the rear tire than with the stock setup,some forum members like this better than the very sensitive stock setup.As far as installation its pretty straight forward just be careful not to overtorque the brakeline banjobolt/brakelight switch at the mastercylinder, a few members sheared it off.And take your time when bleeding the brakes if you don't get all the air out the rear brakes will barely slow you down.good luck and enjoy,this was without a doubt the best money I spent on this bike.

 

I have them also, and could not be happier!!! Install was really easy, just take your time and like Pete said, make sure you bleed the brake line carefully and do not overtorque the banjobolt.

Yes, they are great, follow advice above. Note there are no instructions that come with them. Easy bolt on. Uses stock shifter lever.

 

thanks alot guys it sounds like they're pretty easy to install one question though is the horn a problem ?

 

they come with a bracket to relocate the horn in front of your rectifier (between the frame tubes). i just took my front horn off.

save the rubber boot off your stock controls that covers the brake light switch, then snip the end to slide the wires through to cover the banjo bolt, makes it look nice.

 

thanx again guys I don't think I'll have any problems with it.I also have some iso grips coming and a throttle boss and new levers plus an ais removal kit so I may have more questions but I'm sure if I do this is the right place to come. Maybe some pix soon

 

I have to agree that the Legends are the best money I've spent on the bike thus far. They look fantastic and are easy enough to install. Use a Mighty Vac to bleed the rear brakes and you shouldn't have any problems.

I'm just about to order some myself from Phats and as I'm only 5' 11" am a little worried that they might be a little too far away for my little legs. Phats website says they are for people of 5' 10" or taller. Any other 5' 10/11" riders out there with the Legends? Any reach problems?

 

I'm an even 6' and don't think you will have any problems.

 

I have a 32" inseam and they are just right.

I am 6'2" and I love mine. It put my feet out about 4 inches further.
Alot better that the stock position.
Btw, anyone have problems with the chrome peeling. Have been out on wet salty roads only once and I hosed them off when I got home. I have only seen this problem on the left side so far.

I installed some on my bike. I'm 5'10" so I figured it would be a sure fit. I think if they were an inch closer they'd be perfect. Still wouldn't trade them for the stock ones.[/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]
