Just drill a 1" diameter hole in the pipe. You need a loooong drill bit. Take it and insert it in the hole (which we are all very good at) until it hits the plate. Then start drilling and once you take away that hymen she will no longer be a virgin !!! and you will appreciate the sound.
Don't let those guys get to you, removal of the third stage is not that hard. Plus you keep the cool looking stock can and it's LOUDER!!!! It took me about and hour and a half, of which half was working the other half beer drinking. If you don't find what you are looking for by doing a search, PM me and I will walk you through it. It really is a piece of cake. (If you have the right tools).
check out my pic in the gallery. I did the exhaust mod and I like the sound of it. It is quiet at idle and when you are on the gas you can hear the V twin sound. Not to quiet but not overly loud.
