Mounting Front Turn Sigs - Need Help!

I want to mount the turn-sigs below on my warrior. I have chrome fork covers and I want to get rid of the stock mounts. My first thought was to mount them to the headlight but I really don't think that would look the greatest.

I was thinking about making mounts that bolt into the tree using the existing holes that the break line mounts use. What are your thoughts and ideas?

HEY, I'LL TELL YOU WHAT I DID, I BOUGHT THOSE MIRRORS FROM KURYAKYN WITH THE SIGNALS IN THEM, I ONLY HOOKED UP 2 WIRES SO THEY ARE ONLY SIGNAL LIGHTS AND NOT RUNNING LIGHTS, I RAN THE WIRING THROUGH MY RADIUS BARS, I TOO HAVE THE CHROME FORK TUBE COVERS AND ALSO HAD MY TRIPLE TREES CHROMED, AND THE FRONT END IS VERY CLEAN. THE SIGNALS ARE CLEAR UNTIL THE'RE ON, THEN THEY ARE AMBER, IT'S A SLICK FIX.

I opted to mount them on the headlight housing. Check for clearances first. Remember if you cut out the running lights you must turn off the bike in Neutral never in gear or the FI relays will stay on and make starting it a bitch the next time around or possibly kill the battery.

i dont think th emounting in different locations itself is a prob, as thre are many ways to do that, but what i see as a problem is takin the stock bracket off. then you have a gap in your chrome forks.

Audio, The chrome fork covers come with a chrome spacer to fill that in. It will look way better. Keep the ideas coming.

Kuryakyn sells a "run-turn" controller that will let a single filament bulb, as in these silver bullets, function as dual function (running and turn lights) that should eliminate the need to turn the bike off in gear. This is ,of course, if you want the running light function of the stock configuration.

aw ****... then i'd go to bill H's site and cut out the brackets that allow you to put them up on the tach housing bolts. they look good up there, and they are tucked in nice. or maybe under the lower tree on the INSIDE of the tubes.

What if you drilled and tapped a couple of holes in the middle of the lower fork brace. You could then make a small bracket that would be behind the brake lines, (or maybe behind the whole brace if you had clearance) to hold your sigs. This would involve making a bracket that looks o.k. and you could have it powder coated, chromed, or polish it.

Ha, Audio posted the same basic idea while I was typing, how many cups of coffee did you have this morning Mike?[/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

Oh and Jackel, TAKE YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF! it looks like your screaming.

It has been discussed a few times earlier last year, When you eliminate the front running lights by putting on a single filament bulb, you now have a circut with no load on it. For some unexplainable reason somw of us have experienced "GREMLINS" in the fuel injection system when the bike is shut off in gear. The pumps, injectors or relays of some sort stay on even after the bike is turned off. They can be heard rather loudly, 15-20 feet away in a busy parking lot... If you let it go more than a few minutes the bike becomes flooded or fouled and is **** near impossible to start with shutting it down in neutral and waiting an hour or some for the fuel to dry up out of wherever it is sitting. Both the YAMAHA dealer and my regular mechanic have watched it happen and cannot explain it. Put the running lights back in the circut and it won't do it...

Jody, I have been researching this same mod for both front and back lights. I found thesehttp://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=&ci=1219 to mount to forks, but they won't work on the tube covers. I was also thinking about a bracket that mounts across the frame up high. Kenny's bro did a Roadie like this that looks great. Those lights look pretty nice.

I have another questions for those that have changd out the front turn sigs. Do your runnng lights work or did you do without them? Does it affect the electronics and ECU? The sigs that I posted in the first post don't come with the extra wire for running lights. However, you can buy the extra kit to do it all.

I don't have running lights anymore front or rear. I have the same lights you are putting on. I added a very small low watt bulb in line for the running lights and put it in the headlight assembly. No problem now with turning off the bike in gear. $1 mod.

Good idea! Any other?
