ok so i finally got my warrior!! yeehaww! & it's baddass!!..07, all black w/ the red pinstripes, drag bars, a few other mods...but that freakin watertank pipe had to goooo! got "hard chrome" shortys, a power commander & a high flow air filter to open it up & make it look & sound freakin meeeaan! anywayz, now it looks amazing but it pops (sometimes)when i let off the throttle. i went back to the shop & they put a different map on the pc & its better but still not right. whats the best way to tweak it just right for optimal performance & no popping!!!??? or at the very least, cut the popping? help please!!

kdwarrior07,

A custom map will help you achieve optimal performance...As for the popping you're experiencing it may help a little but you may still experience a slight pop now and then. Especially if you let off the throttle quickly...I still get a pop now and then...

Also I recommend that you do the "Perfect Install" on your Power Commander. It does make a world of difference...You will find a How-To on doing the "Perfect Install" here:

Make sure that you do get a custom map and not just a downloaded map from the Power Commander website. The shop that does your custom map should hook your bike up onto a dyno to set up a custom map for the set-up that you have on your bike. Look to pay somewhere between $200 to $300.00 for a dyno custom map for your bike. And make sure that you have it done by a qualified dyno-tech shop...

Best of luck with your new ride...

Welcome aboard Kenny. You have plenty of Warrior company in your area for sure. The pop on decel is well discussed. The forum's 'search' feature is powerful - sometimes too powerful!

How to Search:

18.18 KB

Here's what you might find when searching for "pop" and "decel" in the incredibly potent "Technical Discussion" forum:

Check the library section fpr PCIII maps. If you can find one that matches your exhaust give it a try. If you just have a high flow filter and not a BAK you could probably use a map for the stock air.

Its going to pop, & the pipe you put on there are going to increase the poping. you can reduce it with a custom map but it will never be eliminated. You will figure out techniques for reducing the poping by what yuor right hand does on the throttle. has the AIS block off been done, it can reduce poping also

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new ride. Already you have some great responses and if it backfires on you quite a bit search for "AIS BLOCK". There are some useless emission components that you can remove to cut down on the backfiring. The beast will pop on decel no matter what you do. That's your baby talking to you.

Nothing to worry about, it will always pop once and a while, get the AIS removed if it hasn't been to help cut it down a little more. It was annoying to me sometimes at first riding a nice looking bike that can pop and bang like a clunker, now I think it just adds character as it doesn't do it too often. Just be prepared to dodge a Buick someday when the pop comes out sounding like shotgun next to some old blue haired lady[/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]
