Gotta admit, wasn't my cup-o-tea when I first saw the thread, but the cleanliness and fabrication got me hooked.

Agreed... I like the pro street look more than the cafe racer look... but this is bike porn for sure!

. . . but its going to shift backwards in the pattern, . . .
Thanks, for pointing it out, btk572!
Exactly what I don't want it to do. No GP shifting for me, because I'd like to live a little bit longer to enjoy the twisties.
That means I need a longer shift rod.

. . . I could be wrong but that old school cafe style tank aint going to be real comfortable on the old bread basket, looks like your having fun so what the heck right, btk572
As soon as I take the existing tank off, to see what I'm dealing with, I will build a wooden buck to see how the new tank shape would feel.
I'm a big boy and there may be an issue with my bulk and the new tank trying to occupy the same space at the same time. :D

Figuring it all out, is where I have the most fun, and fun I have as you correctly stated.

But thanks again for checking on my shift pattern and pointing it out as a possible problem!

I really like XS 650's and all the great opportunities to either turn them into bobbers or cafe racers. I'm just too big to look good on any of them.

Here are some pics of my 2008 Raider that I turned into a bobber after an accident in 2012.

Before the accident:

After the rebuild:

This is my daily rider and I've got over 98k miles on it.
It's a conversation starter wherever I go! I just love riding it.

I hope to get to accomplish the same level of transformation with my warrior.
I love how the bike handles and the spunk of the engine.
It's a great bike!

Looks like you've got a knack for taking lemons and squeezing sweet lemonade out of them.

You are correct, my friend, as it relates to my Raider bobber.
I had too many great memories made, while riding, to let it go.
It was something I had planned to do for a long time, it just came a little earlier because of the accident.
Its similar with my Warrior, not that it is a lemon by any stretch of the imagination, but I always wondered if it could be something different than a pro street.
I love old school bikes with a lot of personality and character.

Sorry, there is nothing to report. I've been sick for the last week.
I hope to get something done before the weekend.
