I ran over a piece of black plastic and my bike decided to lay itself down on the right side. The tank and emblem are gouged and half of the emblem was ground off. Does anybody have an emblem for sale? If not, does anyone make replacement emblems? I would guess that with 3-d printers it might be possible to scan an undamaged emblem (I have one on other bike) and make one?
This has been talked about in the 3D printer group (not on the forum) but I'm not aware of anyone having done this. I've considered attempting it but haven't been able to since my printer has been down since September (it's really starting to bug me...

) because of my wife's job change (she took over my desk and the printer went into the garage). So, if you know someone with a printer, I'd say go for it. The real challenge is going to be getting a good scan to generate the model for it. Not sure if Yamaha ever "published" their CAD files.
If you do print one, you'll want to print it flat, then gently apply some heat to get the tank curve into it. May end up having to put it in an oven for an hour or so at 150°F to get it pliable. Lots of experimentation needed to get it right so take your time.
