Need your creative ideas on mini-trunk

OK, I decided on a set of hard side cases for my Warrior and will be using Easy Brackets to put them on the bike when they arrive. While cruising ebay the other day, I also found a small trunk that I thought would look good on the bike with the hard cases. I bought it since it was priced right. [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]
Now here is my dilemma... I would like to put the trunk on the passenger pillion pad of my bike so that I can make use of the small backrest that is built into the trunk. I need ideas on how to secure it to the pillion pad in a temporary setup so that I can use it when riding solo yet remove it to take my wife or kids for a ride.
I figure if anyone can come up with ideas it would be all of you. I've included pics so you can get an idea of the size and setup of the mini-trunk. I would appreciate any thoughts you may have.

Once you put the EZ Brackets on you will have two studs that stick out a little bit that replace your fender stay bolts. You would always tie it down to those. Of course if you wanted something more stable you could make a bracket that bolts to the top of your EZ Brakets plate. Some drilling and fab work would be required.

Wow!! That was quick [/emoticons/emotion-1.gif]

ozzrider: Thanks for your idea. The brakelight is actually just a reflector but I was thinking there is potential for LEDs in the future.

centurian: I like that idea. It would also allow me to spend more money on another "toy" for my ride. [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

sangathor: Yep, fabrication would be the way to go but I'm worthless when it comes down to that kind of handiwork.

Thanks for the thoughts and keep'em coming

IF you want fast & easy score some long 5/16 or 3/8 wide zip ties, they are rated at about 50# each. Drill holes in the sides bottom front & bottom rear or if you have a dremel make slots. Zip tie that puppy to the pylon. Just cut the ties to remove the trunk. You may have to put 2 ties together to make the loop. I have used this system many times & can tell you that they are speed rated to + 100 mph.

Thanks a ton for all of your ideas. I knew I could count on you all! Now I just need to figure out which option is going to work best for me.
I definitely need to check into "MrWilson's Patented, Universal Pillion Pad Mounting Plate" for those times when I'm using the bike to commute to work alot.[/emoticons/emotion-1.gif]

Thanks again & ride safe

Buy a scooter and put it on it!!![/emoticons/emotion-4.gif]

I'll wait till you get your easy brackets on and then try to make a something that can use that setup so you can remove it "easy".

I don't have an '06, but if the pillion seat is just a few screws... remove the seat. Use the holes and screws to mound your trunk. Place a thick piece of cloth between your fender and trunk to prevent scratches. My '03, I remove the pillion and sissy bar with the same two screws in 45 seconds while the engines warming up.[/emoticons/emotion-11.gif]

You need: "MrWilson's Patented, Universal Pillion Pad Mounting Plate" It mounts using the two stock mounting bolts and the rear slide clip which current hold the pad. You can attach anything you want to it.

I was gonna suggest that. When you're not taking a passenger, take the pillion off and you've got four bolt holes to work with

Trunks are for cars.

Couldn't agree more. The Warrior, in my humble opinion, is defaced with anything more than a tank bag. It's simply too good looking to clamp trunks and bags on.

Lmao, couldn't disagree more. Then it must really hurt to see a warrior like this.

Every place I stopped on my last trip, people would come up to me with compliments on my bike trailer and trunk.

Yes it does! I'm in a lot of pain right now. [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif][/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

I'm sorry, but I've said it before and I'll say it again. IMO There are many bikes (like the roadliner) that look good with bags on them. That's the way they were DESIGNED. So why not buy a bagger instead? I'm sure they handle fairly well and you'll have all the TRUNK room you want plus a big motor. The Warrior just isn't a bike that looks good with bags. It's a sport bike/muscle bike for crying out loud. I'm sorry but I had to say it. No hard feelings[/emoticons/emotion-4.gif]

I'm definitely in the middle of the bagger VS. no-bagger look. I love the Warrior without anything on it so that it can show off it's aggressive look but being a Corrections Officer who can't bring anything in with him into the facility... I find myself in need of storage space for things like the leathers, tools, and other "stuff" that comes along on most rides.
This is why I was looking into the temporary way of putting the 'trunk' on the bike. I can have it on for rides to work and take it off any other time. The Easy Brackets will care for that with the hard cases going on the side.

My first thought would be to install two eye hooks into the 'trunk' and use a Hooker to hold a bungee thru both eye hooks. There would be two eye hooks on each side, using one small bungee.

OR, the zip Tie method would work as well...

BUT.. I like the custom made supa dupa bracket by Mr. Wilson best.. /emoticons/emotion-1.gif
