Been browsing for a couple days and decided to go ahead and hit the ground running. Just bought an 05 Warrior about a week and a half ago; had one mile on it when I bought it and has 600 on it now. Not my first bike, I've had in the past a softail deuce (suicide in any degree turn over 20 mph on a two lane with oncoming traffic) and a 77 Honda 750, which I would take over the deuce any day of the week, even Sunday. Haven't had a bike in about three years and over about a 3 day decision process decided to buy this one. It's so stock I won't bother taking and posting pictures; just black cherry with the flames and the ostentatious garbage can sticking out the side like an 18 year old on Viagra. I'm here to get an idea where I can go with it; I'd like to have a little more cruiser and a little less sports/cruiser look to it. Thinking about the 6 degree rake and lower one inch in the rear. Need pipes too eventually, nothing too obnoxious but good sound and great looks. At any rate, glad to be here, I'm in Greenville NC so if anyone wants to get together and ride, look me up.

Your 05 Warrior had 1 mile on it? Did someone hide it in an outhouse? Welcome to the site John and many congrats on the new bike. Have a look around the galleries, there's plenty of ideas for pipes and so on in there.

Welcome bro. I love the cherry paint!

If you dont chang to a bigger tire you can **** near slam the rear to a few inches abover the tire. Add a stiffer spring, do a flip-n-grind (FNG) or go with adjustable links or even an air ride so you can pump it back up quick if your hitting the twisties. I Love the V&H big shots for "Cruiser" pipes.

Yeah I thought the same thing, 05, one mile. But that's what the odo said. The Yammie dealership recently merged with the Suzuki/Honda/random rice dealership. They seem to have a policy about test drives... doesn't seem to be a very common thing. Seems they only allow test drives with serious buyers who have nailed down a bike and are ready to buy. Got it for exactly 10, otd, tax and all. Figured that was a pretty good deal, had 12.9 on the sticker, and a used 05 with 800 miles was stickered at 10.7. Thanks for the welcome, look forward to getting to know the place.

jav1107,

Congrats on your new ride and welcome to the forums...Sounds like you got a good deal! As for ideas on where to go with it, I'd recommend you check out the Gallery here. It's loaded with ideas!! Just be warned...Once the Mod Bug bites it HURTS! Or at least it hurts your wallet...[/emoticons/emotion-5.gif]

If you want to go with the low, mean Pro-Street look then you're looking in the right direction. I plan to install a set of 6 degree rake triple trees myself...That'll drop the front an inch...And once you slam the rear end down, it'll give you a more cruiser look, but with the that low, mean Pro-Street attitude.

As for pipes...It's basically personal preference. I like the looks and sound of the Samson Shogun Short Slasher pipes. They don't hide the rear of the bike like some of the longer pipes and have a [email protected] sound. Very LOUD! Just ask my neighbors...[/emoticons/emotion-6.gif!]

Oh...And definitely look at getting a FAT rear tire on that beast. Just makes the Warrior look that must better...[^]

Anyway best of luck and be sure to post up some pictures soon.
