I’ve been waiting to get some work done on Vicky after my 5500klm trip to Melbourne and back over Christmas and New Year.
So I worked out a shopping list of what I wanted done.
1. New front and rear tyres ( getting rid of the crap Dunlaps and installing Metzler 888 white walls )
2. New fork seals ( also replacing fluids in forks )
3. A full service ( that’s $1,300 just here )
4. Find another place for the regulator ( the bikes got just under 5” clearance and the regulator is attached to the bottom of the bike ) You all know that I ripped mine out on a large pothole.
5. Just go over the bike and check that no nuts or bolts were loosen on the trip.
They said they are going to need the bike for a couple of days so they have arranged a loaner bike.
The loaner is a 2013 Triumph Rocket 3. I hope they give me a full tank lol.
Will let you know if there are any surprises

I'm so jealous! I have been very close the last 3 months to adding a Triumph Rocket 3R in Karosi red to my garage.
Give us your opinions on it!

Well this one has a 140 rear as well as apes.
It’s comfortable to ride as the seat has plenty of padding. Performance; well I put it into 5th and gave it a fist full until I hit the 160k mark. Then I twisted the grip more and in what only seemed like seconds I was doing 190k. They are right when they say they are touquie ( if that’s a word ). I didn’t push it any harder as there was no screen on it and I was starting to feel a bit like a sail. It is very nimble when you get use to it. It’s definitely not an around town bike, but out on the highway is a whole different story.

@Stryder1956

Vicky is looking really good.
So is the Rocket.
Its a great stable of ponies Brother.
So . . . is the loaner Rocket gonna get a new home! 🤔
No Brother, if I had the money (12k Aussie ) I would buy it in a heartbeat for touring.
It’s got 33k on the clock and Metzler 888’s onboard. There are also saddlebags for it as well. Twin LED headlights. I’d change the handlebars to pull backs, install a cruise control and a screen.
However despite the wishful thinking this poor country boy is broke.

The 3R’s are beautiful, but mighty expensive.
This one is a 2013 and it’s going for around 12k ( AUD ) ride away.

Wow amazing, I was wondering where bike tyres could become running shoes lol. It looks like another drop kick has been booted. Well I’ve had the Boardwalk back from the shop for two weeks now ( or is that a fortnight, darn I can’t remember ). I have to report that the 888 are far superior than the Dun laps that were on it. The handling is so much better than before. The only complaint is the seat. Don’t get me wrong the standard seat is good, but not great. I’d been searching for Corbin seats, but I’m not prepared to pay up to $1,700AUD for one. I am thinking about going south again, but not sure yet.
Some more news Baldy contacted me through the week. He has bought a Valkyrie. Tis a nice bike.
