Hi all - I just bought an 04 all stock w/6700 miles. Previous owner said the only regularly maintenance done was changing fluids on the bike.

Before I take the bike into the shop for a "physical", what are some of the obvious routine things I might consider asking/getting done to keep the bike running strong?

I already see I need new rear tire. But I really need help with the performance side, so I don't sound to green when I talk to the service mechanics and they don't soak me xtra $$$... THANKS!

First thing is don't have the shop do any 'mod' work on the bike. They won;t know what to do nor will they know what the bike needs.

A service isn't a big deal either. You can change the oil, plugs etc yourself. The bike is pretty bullet proof.

i agree with Xenarchi, what the previous owner has done is really all you need. things to check on a very regular basis(weekly) is tire pressure and cables.
