2002 Yamaha Road Star Silverado 1600 won’t start after refueling unless I leave the gas cap off. I checked the main vent line coming off of the fuel tank and it’s not plugged. It will actually spit gas out the main vent line occasionally if the tank is more than half full. The bike runs great as far as I can tell. I nail the throttle and she takes off like a rocket. Now this problem started at the end of last year. I thought I read that this bike has a ventless gas cap system. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thanks

The cap may be causing the problem since it does alright with it off. You would be better off going to the Road Star Clinic for help since you have a Road Star instead of a Warrior. Your bike has a carburetor and i think there is some info on your problem there. Seems like i read some stuff on there about that when i use to visit that site. You are still welcome here. A lot of smart members here that can help out.
