I have been having the same problem. I use a USB adapter since my computer does not have a serial port. Seem that if you start your computer and software without the PCIII plugged in, then plug the PCIII in and select the port, has been working for me. Still finnicky as **** though.

 

also try hooking everything up with laptop shut down. if bike is not running you must have 9volt battery battery hooked up. then boot up your laptop. check to make sure correct port is selectd. this has worked for others. good luck.

 

Prostreet, like they said, the last thing you turn in is your laptop, computer or pda (whichever your using). Make sure the port is set correctly. If all else fails, bring that bad boy over my house and I will use my laptop to upload and take a look at yours.
