I haven't installed my Power Commander III on my bike yet. The PCIII came loaded with a MAP when I got it. I would like to change to a different MAP, but want to make sure that I'm doing it correctly. I'm hoping some of you knowledgable guys could give me some guidance and advice.

I believe that I should be able to over write the new MAP as follows.
1) Save the PCIII software disk to my hard drive,
(or just place the disk in the CD drawer).
2) Connect the 9v Adapter with battery to the Power Commander III.
3) Connect the Cable to the 9v Adapter, and then to Personal Computer.
4) Down Load the new MAP to my hard drive,
(or Up Load the new MAP directly to the Power Commander III).

ya that's basicaly it, but first you have to "load file" map to program once you have everything hooked up, choose the zero map or stock map, so that you know where it is coming from. then you can click on "get map" tab. this retrieves tha map file frome the pcIII, but does not delete it. at that point you can "save map" to your hard drive. then you can download "load file" from list of saved maps that came with your software or that you have downloaded from the net. then all you have to do is "upload map" and this puts new map into the pcIII. to verify you can always select "get map" to see that this has happened, wich loads map from the pcIII. As always wait 30 seconds before disconecting pcIII, to ensure program has been completed, and if you are caught, IMF will deny any knowledge of your mission, this program will self destruct in 30 seconds, good luck.

Be sure that your ignition is ON and you kill switch is ON. You may want to go tohttp://www.powercommander.com/403-211.shtml to see which map is for what setup. Example M403-010 is for Big Shots with Stock Air. It's best to have you cables hooked up to your PCIII before you boot up your computer that way it will find it (at least in my case). If you get stuck read the Trouble Shooting page in the PCIII manual (very last page). Good luck!

X2K, the map shipped with your pc3 is 403-001. this is the stok map for the warrior with stok pipes and airbox. you dont have to save anything. all the maps are on your cd and there are more you can download from powercommander website. the instructions that came with your unit tells you how to install it. the cd is self extracting. you will find everything to be self explanatory. what pipe are you running? each map has a description area that tells you what pipe it is set for. or you can get a master list on the website.

Poncho, the dealer that I bought the PCIII from was suppose to upload the D&D Muffler MAP into the unit. I have since decided to install the V&H Pro-Pipe, so I will need to replace the existing MAP. The PCIII has never been installed in the bike. I assume that it is just an over-write of one MAP over the other one. I'm planning to upload the new MAP at my desk top computer in the bedroom using the 9v Adapter, rather than while the PCIII is in the bike. I'll then install the Pro-Pipe and PCIII at the same time. Does this assumption and thought process seem right?
