The bars are really, really short.

 

They look awfully narrow.

 

Wow, I can see why you are saying it feels strange. I don't think I would be comfortable in that position. Kickback risers would help, but they do seem very narrow.

 

What width are they?

Yup, you need risers big time!
At least 6 inches, that will solve your cable dilemma also

 

You mite want to bust the buget and spring for some wider bars or go back to the stockers.

Actually I love the narrow bars!
That is why I bought the Risers

 

I was trying to go for the low drag bar look. The tank is friggin' huge, though. I had to angle them up a bit to clear the tank in full turn. Adding risers/or wider handlebars would defeat the purpose.

Serrata I have those same bars, but on a set of yami's 6" risecjVwives me a nice comfy riding position.

 

Get a taller set of risers. Turning the bars up to clear the tank generally makes them uncomfortable, Even with the 5" risers and Yamaha flat bar I had they were turned up to avoid the tanks but felt akward. That set up didn't last long on my bike. About three days...

 

Looks good, I always thought the stock bars looked like they belonged on a roto-tiller.

 

I think I am seeing double???You need to get rid of the stocker's. Check out my gallery picture's. I have Pro-One Pull Back Riser's 4inch height, 2-1/2 pull back along with those BJ Bar's makes for one comfortable ride!
