Could we lose the politics in rswarrior? We have seen threads this week about war pictures you don't see, which of course turned into a debate on the war, posters telling "liberals" to shut the bleep up, and an ongoing post about a "Michael Moore" being killed in a motorcycle accident, which would have been fine since it did have a certain irony and is related to motorcycles. But some people can't seem to just let the post speak for itself and have to throw their .02 in about another person's political views. There are plenty of sites where the Michael Moore Vs. the Swift Boat Veteran sides can exchange view points.

Oops! You just sparked another political debate! It's a political season. After the middle of November things will quite down.
These get posted in 'Anything Goes' and there are moderated rules. If you don't like a particular thread - then don't read it - simple solution.

Oh, and by the way, Michael Moore is the biggest spineless SOB I've ever run across (unfortunately not literally). This chump has NEVER agreed to debate any of his conservative counterparts. Why? Because his views are easily defeated and his lies easily disproved.

Okay - time to lock this one down!

Political topics are watched closely, so that they don't get out of hand. I tend to keep my political views to myself, but I still read all the posts. If you feel that any of them specifically break one of our forum rules, email or PM one of us. It's election time and politics are everywhere, including our little corner of the universe.

Sadly politicians are a necessary evil, even if we burned them all of the ones that lie at the stake (read:all of them) as soon as someone filled thier shoes they too would be deemed a politician. Get the starter fluid ready!!

Yeah, no more political debates here because I refuse to not have a point of view when somebody else wants to rub my nose in theirs. Anyway, political debate is a horrible idea and should be banned world wide. Wasn't that whole freedom of speech thing supposed to explicitly exempt political debate anyway? After all, isn't politics a stupid place to place or voice or even have an opinion?
How about a little reality check here OK, what do you say?
There is a place on this here board called anything goes. Maybe it should be called anything goes except politics because politics is bad, bad, bad. Maybe everybody can make up for banning politics by adding another sort of booobie or thong thing. Maybe a nice thread of people wiping their butt would be more politically correct than politics because there is nothing in that sort of arena that would bother anybody. Hey, this isn't my site and this isn't a democrocy, it's a dictatorship and votes only count when we're told they do. But, I have said it before and I'll say it until I'm dead. I do NOT believe in any form of censorship at all. I believe in personal responsibility. If you don't want to know who people are going to vote for, don't go looking in there. If you don't want to know about peoples political opinions, then it sure would be simple to stay away from the areas where these opinions are likely to be expressed (like in the anything goes area). If a butt wiping thread started, I wouldn't be going in there just to be offended. It would be awesome if everybody were offended by the same things and we could all just not talk about it but that hasn't been the case for a lot of years (if ever). Maybe getting rid of the entire anything goes would be the solution as I'm sure there are a lot of people that have been offended by a particular joke, picture, comment or even a Harley bash/rant. I'm sure many of these same people have just avoided the things that they find offensive. It's really easy, a lot of us do it every single day, everywhere we go. We know there is a ton of offenseive stuff out there (whatever it is we may be offended by) and we just avoid it. Personally, the only thing I get offended by is people thinking their freedom of speech is more important than mine and that freedom of speech ends at the end of their own nose. Other than that, I can't think of a thing that offends me.

There have always been a lot of political comments on this site, but I get the impression that most people don't even regard them as political as long as they are in line with some kind of consensus. If anyone would want to ban political postings, they would have a lot of work to do... And they'd probably piss a lot of people off, because just deciding what is political and what is OK, is a political statement in itself.

I'm with Washingtonwarrior, if you are offended by a thread, don't read it. Simple as that.

If I see Michael Moore on the street here in california, I will personally run his sorry ass over, then pull a burn out through his fat ugly ass body! Thats a fact!
Furthermore, any warriors that intend to vote for John Kerry are obviously mis-informed to the facts. Go to "factcheck.org" before you vote.
We are Warriors, do we want an anti war guy like John Kerry leading our nation on the war on terror? We are the worlds super power! Why? Because we have the most weapons!!! John Kerry voted against virtually every major weapons defense system our country currently has in plase! His voting record in the US. senate speaks for it self. If this idiot had his way we would NOT be the worlds super power!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. Sounds like a few of you boys seriously need to go out and take a long ride.

In response to the original post... Remember the one at the top of the thread that didn't ask anyone what their political views were, but whether or not it was appropriate to post them at this site? Yes, that one. And although it is amusing for one who calls himself 'RatPhlem' to call Mike Moore a chump and although I enjoyed listening to Washington's butt wiping rant, the original post was, "is this appropriate?".

Yep. Trying to separate sex n freedom (politics) from anything with a motor would be like trying to take the sex n drugs from rock n roll - not mention the freedom to express yourself.

Still don't like it? If the threads bother you - don't open them.
