Problem w/ New Bend Bars

I just got my new Warrior bend handlebars. These bars are NOT what was advertised on the Yamaha website. They are 34 1/2" wide not 26 1/2". They are about 15" deep when sitting on the desk. Did they bend them wrong or what? What is the width of your new bend bars? I know there are 5 or 6 guys out there with them.
The part # is correct and so are the instructions.

Thanks

I just finished up talking with Yamaha CS. They F'ed Up. They boxed up the wrong bars and sent them out as the "new bend bars". So now I have to wait for them to open all the boxes and see that they don't have any of the right ones then they have to order from their parts supplier then they have to get tooled up then they have to have some contract problems then ... then you get the idea. Maybe another 6 months. But hey they said they feel bad about it.

Did anybody get the right bars???????????

Thanks
Arthur

What is the deal here...I just called my Yamaha dealer and had them measure my bend bars that just came in...they are also 34 & 1/2 inches wide. This ticks me off. My dealer is going to follow up with Yamaha today and get back with me. Is there spec wrong or are they shipping out wrong bars to everyone. I would hate to believe that Yamaha is that inept. This worries me now after waiting so long to know if they are really going to offer a bar that is better then the stock ones...[}/emoticons/emotion-1.gif]

They have screwed it up and if you complain enough they might compensate you. I haven't heard of anyone that got the right bars. They didn't change the specs. The supplier sent them the wrong bars. That's the story I got.

Hey ddarais they will pay to have them replaced by your dealer so you can use the ones you have 'till they send you new ones.

Just checked, mine are longhorns also. Never questioned them. Stupid on my part. Pisses me off. $30 for roadstar(midnight star) clutch cable, $106 for +4 throttle cables, 5 hours working on brake hoses to make them work and am still gonna order longer ones. Still have to extend the wires, another weekend in the garage instead of on the seat. Alot to bitch about but you know, I love these bars. They are so darn comfortable. I am affraid that the bend bars couldn't compare now that I have ridden with these. I am still going to let Yami hear big time from me. Maybe Some $s back or other stuff in the catalog but I have gotta say, I'm not giving these bars up. No way.

All you guys that have complained to Yamaha CS...anyone heard when the right bars will be shipped. This is pretty poor of a company the size of Yamaha to have this large of mistake. Yamatized sounds like you are pretty happy with your bars...I guess we don't have anything to compare them too.....since they are all the wrong bars. I wonder if the cabling and hoses will work better with the new (right) bars. The funny thing is that my dealer said that the bars in the picture in the catalog and on the web site are the longhorn bars they are sending out. Yamatized..what do you think are the bars you have the ones in the pictures?

After they rip through all the boxes that they have in stock. If they have any correct ones they'll ship them out to those of us that have complained. Other than that, the bars are frozen with no "expected ship date" until they pull there head out. Actually I think I've been too hard on Yamaha. This is only the second year of the bike and I think they got into a situation that has snowballed out of control. I'm sure a lot of it wasn't there fault. I've heard rumors of contract and other supply chain problems. That being said they need to move their A** and get me my stuff.

I don't think you'll get them. They aren't shipping any out. Your dealer probably went by what the computer said. Which was they are in stock at the warehouse. I really hope there are some correct ones out there. I'm still waiting to hear from someone, anyone, that got the right bars.

Good luck dude.

Yes I believe that these bars are the ones in the picture. The bars in the picture don't look narrow enough to be 26 1/2 wide. If the bend bars are on backorder until **** frezes over, you guys should get the longhorns unless your back is better than mine. Personally I like the look of the Radi'us bars but my back just can't take it. With these bars I sit straight up, no more leaning forward. Changing everything to make them work is a pain though, but well worth it IMO.
