Has anybody have an easy way to pull the spark plugs on this w/o rmoving the tank. I would like to check my plugs more often, for the ECU adjustments, but it is a royal pain in the arse to do. i just can't find the right tool to pull the plugs without removing the tank each time!!!!

WELL???[/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

No need to check all the plugs, I tune by reading the left side only. If I happen to have the tank off I'll check the right sides but they will read the same as the left ones. Thats the way it is on my bike.

well the reason i ask about the front one is that my ecu setting are so different between the two. there has to be an easier way!! Or maybe not. If i could only find that fine tooth ratchet, mabe a 1/4'" ratchet would work if i can somehow mack a thin wall socket that will fit...

I have been trying to do a search on the ECU thing and keep geting 1001 result, but non related. my original settings are c01= -5 co2= -1. I have no idea where to start from!? they are so differen, why? So many questions!!! I saw somwhere about starting out a +3 on both, and this is why i would like a quicker way to check front plug. Is there that much of a difference between the two cylinders or is it just crap to begin with(the co settings from factory)?

Actually, I probably shouldn't be checking it now anyways. It is only 38degrees out where i am at in mich. not my normal riding temp. 65 - 90 degrees is more like normal.

It isn't that the bike didn't run good a those setting, actually it ran very well, but i thought it was a bit on the lean side, then again, that was probably because it was only in the upper 50's.

But, i would like to fine tune it and figure out if a 4 point difference between the two cyliders is necesary or if it was just some number they slaped in there!!

Good God, why 11? what kind of mods do you have?

I think that I am just going to have to play around with it a bunch. I kept the ratio the same but up 3 points and it definally sounded diferent, but not as good. I am just going to have to wait til it warms up to be sure that isn't plying a big part in it. I am sure that it is running leander than a few days ago because of the temp..

why is everyone putting it to the same # for each cylinder, and a better question, why is Yamaha setting them so different?

I guess your talking about any of the plugs. There's a plug socket in your tool kit, install it on the plug & use an end wrench on top of it. No need to pull the tank to check the left side plugs.
