Replacing the stock disconnect is a good idea if you are going to relocate it higher on the bike. The 90 degree angle that the gas lines enter on results in a sharp bend if you keep the stock drybreak . Fast by Ferracci has a good replacement that has been used by a lot of the members here: http://www.ferracci.com/cgi/hazel.cgi/cgi-bin/hazel.cgi?action=add&item=F88500
I also replaced the stock gas lines with 3/8, so I think this disconnect will work with stock lines as well.
Straight works cleanly. I used the Fast by Ferracil. Stock fuel lines are just a little too big for this quick disconnect. Going down to the 3/8 works fine and goes on pretty easily.
