I just did that mod, with some tech advice from mdfdwarrior (thanks Thom!) No problem what so ever, it was a walk in the park. I havent been able to try it yet, as it is still cold winter here in Sweden.
It's possible. Just depends on what year R1 you use. They all can be used, it just depends if you are going to retain the Warrior front brakes. If you have the entire assembly from an R1, then it's easy.
I did this on my 02 with 04 radial mount caliper R1 forks. I used a 03-06 R6 front wheel. Your stock 06 wheel will accept the larger 320mm rotor that originally came with the 04-06 R1 if you should choose to use them.
