4 to 6 weeks ago I wrote asking about rear shock adjustments and aftermarket suspension. My 2003 warrior was feeling springy in the rear. It had lost that firm but controlled feel in the corners that I loved.According to my shop manual the only adjustment was spring preload, which would make the ass end stiffer, but even more bouncy. What I wanted was a shock with adjustable damping!! Some of you said that the 03's were fully adjustable and I assumed these well intended people just did not understand what I meant. Both of my manuals showed how to adjust the spring only!! Well last week I got off my lazy but and jacked the bike up and WHOA!? My manuals show 2 large threaded nuts, and my bike has two notched collars! And son of a gun this looks like a damping adjust knob!!! I tightened the spring 3 turns, went 3 clicks clockwise on the knob and WAHOOOOOO!!! later added 2 more turns and I am in HANDLING NIRVANA!!
NOTE: to all you who wrote me telling me I had adjustable damping; thank you and I apologize!
