I know tires expand at speed. 1/8" to 1/4" clearance be ok?

Just curious, doing some reading on this stuff.

Here's some interesting reading if you have time imo: "nickels worth of clearance" by this writer and discusses both swing arm clearance and tire growth and I'm cognizant of what some manufacturers recommended clearances are :) ... 240 Swing Arm
The Factory recommended rim for a 250/260 tire is 9.00" wide.
The 8.50" wide rim is the factory preferred width for the 240/40R18 except for the Dunlop 3

Reading through this. The link to your rear pulley belt squeak is bad. Was it under your name? I want to check out how you align the tire with a square. Thanks alan!

Tires don't really expand width wise. They oval more or get taller (I'm lost for the words)

It's not a bike tire But this is my clearance with a 235/45/17. (9.4" inflated width per manufactures specs)
It's maxed out on clearance width.

The swingarm takes a rounded tire and allows it to elongate from high speed rotation.
250474

About the thickness of a quarter and almost a dime together gap.

Less then a dimes thickness on the bottom of the swingarm compared to the tops.

That looks pretty close! Well looks like I can run the 250 clearance wise without issue. I am running a 33t pulley for now.

Honestly I just went with what ever the vendor stated was best. They seemed to do a lot of these kits. I should have went with the 260 kit but decided against it. Oh well I'm sure I will love it and if not I will go 280 lol

Yes, I didn't realize it was this tight. This tire runs wider then the average 235.
But check this link out.
This could help out some - Rear Tire Dimensions and Rims
