Replacement Front Directional

Has anybody replaced the front OEM directional (two filament/three wire light) with a single filament two wires light? (Which means I would have no running/markerLights)

When I disconnect the OEM two filament/three wire light and plug in the single filament two wire light, the directionals blink really fast.

I tried a lot of different combination with the wiring but can't get the new single filament two wire light to blink at the normal rate.

The lights I'm trying to install match the ones I replaced on the rear but aren't available in a two filament/three wire light. Which is why I'm trying to rig these to work in place of the front OEM directional.

Does anyone have an easy work around for this type of set up?

LED´s!! Dunno what I was thinking.

Smaller, as in size or load? Single filament bulbs can act the same way as LED´s if there´s a big difference in load compared to stock.

If you remove the running lights the ECU is gonna have issues when you shut off the bike in gear, the decrompression solenoid will click away and the Tach may stay lit etc... The easy fix is only shutting of the bike while in Neutral. This stops the Gremlins.

As for the faster blink rate, you must have changed the load on the blinkers, it has absolutely nothing to do with the running light circut. If you want to stick a ingle filament up front then take it apart and swap the socket. Or you can wire an extra socket for each side inside the headlight housing, this keeps the load correct and hides the big bulbs. Just put some heat wrap around the bulbs, you don't want to melt anyting inside the headlight.

I bought my warrior used which already had this mod (looks much cooler than stock for sure), and yup, it has the exact issue that Grumpy speaks of (must turn it off in neutral). I was used to stopping and turning off my bike while in gear for years (lived in SF) so it wouldn't roll down a hill. You CAN put it back in gear after it's off, but it's a silly hack.
