Well since we are already discussing WFIII, I felt it was appropriate to start the Return to the Dragon II thread as well. [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

This trip is for anyone who wants to attend but especially for those that may not have been able to make the big April gathering or just didn't get enough of what the good ole NC/TN mountains have to offer. [/emoticons/emotion-5.gif]

The dates will be September 14th-17th. Labor Day weekend is the first weekend of the month and I figured it'd be best to allow a weekend in between so as to make it easier for more people to attend. Besides, the Fall color should be spectacular right about then.

This is officially a four day event from Friday til Monday but last year some came earlier and left later. For the sake of making it easier to get together as a group, I will post events/rides and where people are staying on these dates only.

Make sure and post when you plan to arrive, where you are staying and when you plan to leave.

Stay tuned for further information as the situation develops! [/emoticons/emotion-5.gif]

Alright folks. After calling around and discussing our options for places to stay, I decided to go with the good folks at the 2wheel inn. Barry and Linda are good folks and you can't beat a nice room with a garage!

They currently have 7 rooms still available and the apartment for the weekend we plan to be there. That's checking in on Friday the 14th and out on Monday the 17th.

Better call'em fast if you want a room!

My wife and I will be there on the 14th, 15th and 16th. She no longer rides so she'll be bring the car. If anyone from the Charlotte area needs some gear hauled up let me know. Note transportation for Beer may require a slight fee [/emoticons/emotion-4.gif]. Looking forward to meeting ya'll and seeing another Warrior on the road.
We're booked for the 2WI.

Ok guys and gals had the day off and lookin at the maps for rides. This is just an idea. Leave TW Inn take 129 to 19/129 towards Murphy (traveled it on my honeymoon) we can stay 2 lane or maybe run4 lane depending. Take 64 west out of Murphy to 294 or stay on 64 to TN Hwy 68. This takes us to Tellico plains where we could take the Cherahola or pick up 411 to 129 and come back through The Dragon. Sounds like a nice day ride some nice twisty and scenic routes. Just an idea...FEEDBACK please!![/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

John, I guess we can do that...sounds OK but I do the thinking for this group[}/emoticons/emotion-1.gif][}/emoticons/emotion-1.gif] JK
No really sounds like a great ride. We're in. Hard to pick a bad route when you are up there. Really some great roads to ride and we haven't even come close to riding all of them.

John, one good long ride is probably enough and that's assumming the rest of the group even wants to do that. You gotta think, we're only gonna have two good days of riding when you account for travel time there and back. I'm sure there are some that will spend the majority of their time on the dragon and others that would like to ride some 'unseen' roads.
