Ring End Gap Specs, From the Manual!!!

Enough speculation already!!! Why buy a service manual when continued posts about the same topic with incorrect info will pi$$ off someone like me who gets tired of reading about it & will take the time to look it up for y'all.

Here it is from the service manual.

Piston ring end gap.

First & second ring, .012 to .018

Oil scraper rings. .008 to .028

Those are the stock settings and may be fine with HC pistons without resleeving. It seems that when you upgrade to steel sleeves that the gaps should be set differently. Aren't the stock cylinders unsleeved aluminium? If this is the case, then we have two different materials with different heat properties, yes?
