I often blaze through, starting on my own page and cruise through the posts I am interested in or have contributed to. Often I am making a post right after antoher post like 2-3 times in a row. Not always do I ahve top write a book to respond to someone's question, or add feedback to an interesting thread.

I dont know if things have changed recently or if I have just been picking up spped, but tonight I hit "flood-control" like 3 times in 4 posts...

The part that is most agravating is that when I hit back on my browser, all my typed comments are erased. What a PAIN IN THE.....

I would humbly request that flood control be revisited as a setting/policy. Lets face it, if we have a posting member that is spamming, he is likely also trolling and will require moderator/admin intervention regardless if he is able to post more or less than 1 post per full minute. Limiting active members from being able to efficiently use their time on the board just promotes less activity and raises an annoyance factor.

I think this is mostly to prevent people from double posting the same message by accident (the old double click). The other nice thing is it keeps "post whoring" (i.e. 2 or 3 word posts) down to a minimum.

Unfortunately, there are a few people on here who post meaningless posts on a regular basis and have around 400-500 posts and have only been members for a few months.

I kind of like the fact that the site has the flood control. Although it doesn't allieviate the problem completely, it is definitely somewhat effective.

Hadn't thought about the double post thing... IT's a valid concern and a much more salient point for the current implementation.

I've got to admit that it's a bit annoying. Could it be cut down to 30 seconds without affecting anything? I don't think it has any effect on double posts at all. They still seem to get through. Besides, how any I suppsed to catch Darkstar???

I have never had this problem and I'm on the board at least 2-3 hours a day for the last 2 1/2 years. I usually keep the active topics in one window and open all the topics off of that in new windows. Maybe posting from multiple windows get's around this. Not really sure, but I have never had a problem.
