Use the plug wrench and 17mm open end wrench in your tool kit.
You (DO NOT) need to remove the airbox. I have changed my plugs
three times with no airbox removal.
If you are running a 100% stock bike with all plumbing intact, you can change all the plugs except the front right without touching the airbox. Tank has got to come off.
For the front right plug, don't need to remove the airbox but it sure helps to loosen it so it could be jiggled. In order to do this, I needed to remove the side air filter case, intake air temperature sensor and loosen the clamps on the throttle bodies.
I also found it necessary to remove the intake air sensor bracket from the airbox so the linear control valve hose could be moved out of the way, allowing you to be able to disconnect the plug boot from the front right plug and move it out of the way (that plug wire is very short). Without doing this, it was impossible to get your fingers in there to get the boot up and out of the way.
That right front plug is such a pain in the a$$ that it does not even pay to just "check and clean" plugs.
