I have been thining about replacing the factory speedometer and tack with a couple of auto meterpro cycle. I have seen some gages that mount to the bars but I havn't seen any that are still mounted above the headlight. I like the look of two cup gages above the headlight. If anyone has done anything like this, even if it was a change to the bar mounted gage I'd like to hear how the change went.

I'd be curious as well. Is there an odometer in the speedo? If I could only have one gauge - it would be an odometer, it's a must have...

You will will loose your diagnostic feature and ability to adjust ecu if you remove the tach. You could always plug the tack back in to do ecu adjusts, but I like the fact that the one time my bike refused to start (other than the dead battery episode) the tach read a code 19. A little wd40 the side stand switch and all was well.

I recall someone connecting the stock speedo under the seat for such things.
