If we were to get more Warriors and other cruisers to join in the fun in HRC until we have 10 or more "street" bikes consistantly running in the class, maybe Prostar will rethink some of the rules or even make another class. We need to show interest and that we want to race to Prostar, otherwise the class WILL die. Knowing I would not win did not diminish the excitement or thrill of racing heads up in Valdosta. I will be at every race possible, because that was one of the most enjoyable events I've attended. With more "street" bikes, the odds are you'll line up with someone that may be more evenly matched.

So, anyone near Atlanta should come out to the Prostar race at Commerce and join in the Hot Rod Cruiser class.

And it's E A S Y to do... just plunk a little bit of cabbage down at the window (not really that bad considering the number of runs and the company you will keep!) and the nice ladies will give you permission to have more fun than a person should oughta on two wheels. Heads-up racing is a freaking hoot.
HRC does require membership into the AMA but other than that, it's a "walk on." However, the Street-ET and Pro-ET are only temporary membership if you would rather. They (bracket racing) are a hoot because so many little mistakes made by other riders can advance you further than you might think. I truly suck at racing... but I keep moving 'cause I'm lucky that maybe the person next to me is even more distracted. (Me telling them about their sister has little effect, though.)
Given my shabby riding skills, mostly stock bike and spaced-out demeanor, you would think I would have killed myself by now but it's a safe sport.
We have a lot of RSW guys in the SouthEast... I hope there is a good turnout for this run in Atlanta. Next comes Richmond, VA and you can bet we'll be there, too. Keith and Nigel would love to see us all and meeting them is a true pleasure worth the weekend away from the house.
If you have any questions, give me a buzz and I'll do all I can to help answer them. (Which means me bugging Rex for the correct answer and then getting back to you! Ha!)

You guys can bet I'll be supporting in Virginia and a few other races here up North ( Ohio, Indy ). I'll do my part to keep the class rolling. Who cares if I win. I want to line up against Rick and maybe spank him on the tree too...I'll be in Virginia with you guys if I have to mount my 31cc weedwacker motor on the bike.

Bruce, I thought ganesville was in november? If you get the chance, shoot me an e-mail with the scedule so I can start marking up my calender. I'm going to try and make floride with you guys too. October would be better than november. The bucks are running like crazy with the rut in full swing in november and you know I spend all my time hanging in a tree at that time.

Dont let Bruce fool ya, ya better have your racin face on when ya line up next to him, hes already tryin to psych me out and we arent even there yet![/emoticons/emotion-2.gif] One extra advantage Bruce forgot to mention is that others dont like to race a Warrior, they know we are consistent and most of these guys are runnin 8 & 9 second bikes. That means in bracket racing we get on average a 3 second head start, it really makes them nervous, some of them red light, others breakout, either way we win! And as long as your in the ET classes, might as well run HRC! You get to spend all weekend tearing down the track, money very well spent with a chance to get it back! You cant get that at Disneyworld! See you guys there!

After pulling some .00x lights throughout the TnT's on Saturday at SoutheasternDragway, during elims I was sound asleep and got busted with a .3 and .5 RT!! Can someone bring some NO-DOZE for me when you come to Commerce?! Jeeeesh.
Rex, they have all new lights at SEDW; a TSI System 2000+ and they are nice.

As far as the VRods go a couple of them - Jamie and Larry I believe plan to be back - I think Tripp may also join in the fun. First event was in conflict with AHDRA - plus there is some disasisfaction with rule changes which I believe are viewed as weighted against the VRods. I do not know the details on that though. Personally, I would like to race ProStar, but this heads up format at the current level would take some serious cash to do the build - and I can win as much at my local IHRA track with very little invested - of course my brand of racing is ride what you race and race what you ride - purpose built stuff is mildly interesting but not my cup of tea. The AHDRA class has the same basic issue - to much investment with no return. The class setup limits participation to a few big money programs. Current system could land up with two of four entrants - not all that brilliant of an idea from my point of view.... but then I am just a guy that likes to race - not an organizer.

If it weren't for proximity and the fun factor of being with people I really enjoy hanging with, I doubt I would follow ProStar around the SouthEast simply to get a spanking in each event. The idea of a HRC "run what you brung" category is cool and is being handled in the best possible way, so how on earth could that ever be enforced with any less controversy? From what little I know of their builds, I think I could safely ride a Patrick Warrior to work once in a blue moon... (with the exception of a mirror, the bike would pass Georgia state law. Hey Nigel, nudge-nudge-wink-wink... got a spare bike I can have on Friday morning? I promise to have it back to you on Saturday.)
On the other hand, in fields of 100+ riders for street and pro ET, I seriously doubt I would win anything either. That's why I trip out for just the chance to go head's-up with English or McWaters... I know my limits and respect their team. Getting blistered by them ain't the worst thing in the world.

So that makes 4 of us for sure - Blubruce, Rex, Cinci and Elvis. Anybody else coming out?

Rex,
Cinci is coming down on Friday for TnT! You guys might be coming into Cobb/Paulding at about the same time that afternoon.
Add another Warrior to the mix of Street/Pro and HRC this weekend at Commerce. ;^)

You can download the Prostar rulebook here http://www.amaprostar.com/rulebook/05_rulebook.pdf.

Just about any motor work is allowed, limited to 1800cc.

After each run they check your weight (must be at least 700 lbs with rider for Warrior) and ground clearance of 3 in. while sitting on the bike.

Technically, they also require a steering damper, but we were able to pass tech without one (I think since we would not be going faster than 120 mph).

Only OEM windscreens allowed.

Hope to see you in Richmond.
