The difference a map can make

jshram and I went for a ride tonight. This is the first time we've ridden together since he put on the V-bak. When we first met his bike was stock, I had Big Shots and a PC III with the Big Shots map. I could pull away from him pretty easily. Then we both went in for the recall and got the HC pistons. At the same time he put on Rhineharts and a PC III. I could take him but just. We think it was probably the 30 pounds difference in our weight, the bikes were that close. Now, with the V-Bak, I just walk off and leave him. He bumped the PC III but hasn't had a map made yet. We all know he should be leaving me behind now that he has the V-Bak. This is just more proof that the correct map can make a world of difference.

Oh, well thanks a lot! It is true that I am not as skinny as JC, and I enjoy a good summer barbeque, but hey!!!

I purposely chose a fat map, but apparently it is really too fat. I've since that ride imported a map I got from a member on the forum that was made for a bike with similar mods. I'll give that a try and see. This map is much leaner. Guess the only way to really tell is to pay for the dyno run and get a map made.

Still, the bike is a hoot, and OldMan can't stay with me in the corners no matter how much faster his bike is, so there! [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif] (I won't go say he is a slug though, his tires are rubbed close to the edge too).

Aren't we a bunch of silly boys and our toys?! Aint it great?!

It's called old age and common sense!! I'm more aware of my mortality than John is of his! [/emoticons/emotion-5.gif]
