Thinking about a change????

A buddy of mine just sold his Warrior today and will be on his FZ1 from now on. Another buddy of mine bought a CBR1000 and is trying to sell his Warrior, another buddy of mine bought an st1100, and one other friend of mine has a gxxr1000. Anyway, as you all know, I LOVE my Warrior, but I
can't have 2 bikes. I've had the Warrior for almost 3 years now and have ridden it almost 20,000 miles. I'm kinda in the mood
for something on the sport side lately. I've thought about what I want and was thinking an SV1000, TL1000, or RC51 because their Vtwins, but I'm kinda liking the bmwK1200s at the moment even though it's not a Vtwin. I definitely want to be different so I am not interested in a Busa, gxxr,or cbr and I don't want an Italian bike due to there's maintanance involved. Anyway, what do you guys think? Am I crazy? Is it just a phase? Or is it time to move on? Is there anyone out there that made this move and regreted it?

Yes you are crazy. Gregg you are like one of the Warrior "Gods". Don't abandon us now! Your bike, especially with the paint and powdercoat, rules. Part of the Warrior's appeal to me is the mean growl you can get with the large variety of exhausts you can get. Yes they're faster and I know I'm going to get verbally pummelled for this but crotch rocket exhausts just sound wussy IMO. (I said IMO so please don't be thrash me too hard). Keep the Warrior, you're just temporarily insane![/emoticons/emotion-3.gif)]

I think you are nutz Vec and I've seen the videos.

The sport bikes are just not my style. If you go with the sport bike, still come on down to WarriorFest and show it off. The BMWers are OK and getting very popular these days. You will not standout unless you paint the mad clown of this one too!!!

Gregg, man I hate to hear that, but if thats what it'll take to make you happy, I say fo for it! I can;t imagine getting rid of either one of mine, but I don't hardly ever get rid of anything. I hopryou change your mind, but good luck with whatever you decide!

Looks a lot like the blue/white GSX-R bike, only uglier. [/emoticons/emotion-4.gif][:0]

LOL, c'mon, you've got to be kidding, that beemer is gorgeous! I saw one in person and couldn't keep my eyes off of it. Don't get me wrong, I love the gxxr1000. A friend of mine let me ride his a week after he bought his and I looked down and I was doing 170mph. I couldn't believe how easy it was to get there. But as I said in my 1st post, I always want to be unique and not have what everyone else has.
I think it looks kinda like a Yamaha paint scheme. The only thing that turns me off about the beemer, I just couldn't stomach a sporty with a shaft drive.....

Vector. I like the v twin sport bikes as well. But I get very uncomfortable after about 40 or 50 miles in the saddle. If you have put 20k on your bike in 3 years and think you will continue to do so, you better think of comfort factor. (I know you have). But as for me, I can't do any seriours distance on the rockets, but then I have about 23-25 years in the coal mines, with many shifts hunkering and bending over to walk or even move. That probably don't help my mobility much now.

I don`t know why.Maybe i`m getting old. but any kind of a sport bike just is`nt for me. It`s like a Harley. everyone, other then my good friend I ride with, that I met on this site, own Harleys and when I ride with them, all of them like mine cause it`s different. You have a sweet looking Warrior and you`ve put a lot of you into it. I just would`nt be able to part with my Warrior ,I enjoy it way to much. That`s my thoughts./emoticons/emotion-1.gif

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my bike and do not have a single complaint about it. It looks awesome, sounds awesome, handles awesome, etc. It's just lately for awhile, I've been itching for something else. I'm just the type of person in general where I get bored with something easily. As someone mentioned earlier, I have that 'new' bike lust. It might wear off and I might stay with the Warrior, but all I know right now is I have an itch for a sport bike. Hopefully, I could convince 1 friend of mine to switch bikes for a week or two. He loves my bike and he has a 06 gxxr1000.
I'm also feeling that I want to start a new project. It's very exciting bringing a bike to the way you dream it should look like. I feel if I do anything else to my Warrior, it will be too much.

Well, I've got my Warrior AND my SV650S. Riding my SV is kind of "ho hum" compared to the Warrior. There are advantages to the SV (better handling for the most part), but dang it - the bike isn't "fun" unless I'm going well over 100. I guess I see the SV as very homogenized. It's not a wild beast like the Warrior and I quickly got bored with it. I have yet to get bored with my Warrior. It's a thrill every time I fire it up. My 2 cents: If you can get a used sportbike as an extra - do it. If not, then keep the Warrior. Trust me!!

Hey here's an idea: find a sportbike friend you trust and trade bikes for a couple weeks. I think you'll find that I'm correct.

I retired from sportbikes after my son was born. Reasons are on the same lines of wanting to slow my ass down and stay in the upright position. The Warrior is a whole lot safer due to its limitations. This is me and this is the direction I have chosen. The only bike that might tickle my interest is the MT-01. Other than that I will be keeping the Warrior and get myself a nice long distance cruiser within the next 5 years.
