36mm socket on the top retaining nut on triple tree........

 

I'm not sure about a tool to remove the swing arm, should just be a socket for that.

The tripple tree nut on top is 36 or 37mm I think. The manuel says you need a special wrench to remove the two ring things after you take the top nut off. You don't need that wrench. Those rings shouldn't be much more than hand tight. Mine were easy to get off, and if I recall correctly the torque spec for those isn't much.

 

ya to remove the lil spanner nuts - i used a punch and hammer`

 

Those spanner nuts are easy enough to remove. Small screw driver will work just as well with a small tap of a hammer.........

 

36 MM for the swing arm nut also.

 

SWEET. I know I have one of those...but I can't seem to put my fingers on it. I believe my neighbor borrowed it..so I will have to give him a call.

The swingarm nut is not 36mm more like a 28mm The only other 36mm I know of on the Warrior is the front pulley nut.

best bet is buy a large socket set /emoticons/emotion-2.gif

 

Ok, then I definitely have the triple tree socket already - because I have already removed the front pulley. I just need to find the **** thing. I spent all weekend finally getting my cabinets built and everything put away. But the only things that I can find are the things that I found and put away. No record of the things that I had already lost and still can't find.

Also, I need to go find the locking key that holds the left side oil tank cover on - there is a small star nut with a pin in the center that requires a special star allen head.

 

do what i did, grind a slot in it, and remove it.. /emoticons/emotion-2.gif then use/get one with out the pin in the center.

 

Are you changing to chrome triple trees or just taking them off for the paint job? I'll give you some pre-cautions if you are changing them out to reza-chrome.

 

Wasn't planning on changing them out. I was just thinking about polishing them and clear coating them. I have had enough of the chrome for a while...too much to polish and clean.

 

How are you gonna clear coat them? I can't find anything or anyone that can make it stick. They all say that it is to smooth.

 

Go to Home Depot for the sockets. I got a Husky 36mm for $4-$5.

Not sure. I haven't looked into that yet. I may not be able to do it. I may just keep it as is and figure something else out later.

I went to Discount Auto and picked up the 36mm and a 1-1/16th - equivalent to a 26/27mm. Worked like a charm. I can't believe I went that long with an impact wrench. Had the whole thing off in about 13 seconds.

Yes Ed, it was the front pulley i was thinking of that was also the 36MM.

The swing arm nut is smaller.
