i've installed flexible leds on the front. same problem with the quick flash. have noticed it messing with the ecu. i keep getting an error 4 code. i'm looking for a load equalizer myself. i believe a 2 amp equalizer will work but still looking to be sure.

 

The best solution I have found on other bikes is to replace the stock thermal flasher with an electronic flasher. This should work on a Warrior as well. All you need is a Tridon EL-12 or EL-12C. This will solve the fast flashing that is caused by the low amperage draw of the LEDs (basically it makes it think there is a bulb burned out).

 

what is that and where can i get one? does that just solve the flash problem, low amperage problem or both?

It's just an electronic flasher that replaces the stock thermal one. You should be able to get it at Auto Zone or the like. It will solve the fast flash for sure, but I don't know enough about Warriors (yet) to know what the amperage draw of the signals does for the ECU. I can't see why the ECU should care what amperage the signals are drawing, but again I don't know enough about how they are designed to make a call on it.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I just installed the Kuryakyns in the front with the supplied load equalizer and the ECU still doesn't like it. I'll be looking into this myself. Please post up if anyone has proven solutions.

AirNavy, I'm not sure if that will work with the warrior's ECU.

 

amospro are your light running/turn signals or just turn signals? the decompression solenoid freaks out and battery drains if i turn the main switch off. if i just turn the key to shut off all is good.

 

Fourleaf- I have had these lights installed for over a month and have not had a problem with battery drainage. They are wired as run turn. Maybe it is a wiring thing??? As far as shutdown, i always hit the main switch and then the key.

 

A few months ago I replaced the front turn signals with the Kuryakyn leds using their load equalizer and wired per instruction, no problems so far. The ECU seems happy with them.

 

sounds like i just need the load equalizer to fix the problem.

 

I do have the LED Turn/Run lights and supplied load equalizer and I have minimal noise in the decompression solenoid. It's OK if I turn the key off when the bike is in nuetral but I still get some clacking if I don't.
