As promised, I'm bringing back the Warrior of the [time period] thread! It's great seeing everyone's ride and what all they've done to them over they years, or seeing a bone stock one still in good shape! All positive vibes here!

I'm working on a reward but haven't gotten there yet. I'll update when I have something concrete to share.
Award update: Winner will receive one year of premium membership and a WoQ profile badge!

So, some ground rules:
  1. You have to be a member with at least 20 posts to be considered during voting.
  2. Winners of the previous 4 quarters are not eligible during voting.
  3. You can only post pictures of YOUR bike. You can request someone else to post pics of their bike, but that member has to do the posting.
  4. You can post up to 5 photos of your bike that you'd like to have considered.
  5. Voting will be open for the last two weeks of each quarter. I'll do my best to keep on schedule.
  6. Ties will be broken by whoever was first to post. For instance, if post 6 and 13 tie in the voting, post 6 member takes it home.
  7. Keep the chatter to a minimum. Since this will be by the quarter, the thread needs to be reasonably browsable during voting.
  8. Future competitions will have themes, but the last quarter will always be open and "theme-less".
So, lets see those Warriors! I know there are some sexy beasts out there!

I would greatly appreciate consideration for Warrior of the month/year considering how far this bike has come , I have put considerable time and effort into bringing this iconic muscle cruiser back to life. When I acquired it the bike could have been a candidate for the scrap yard and or a a parts bike. Now it will live its second life in gloss black screaming down the interstate representing the Yamaha brand we all have grown to love. Just my opinion of course and I will continue to contribute whatever I can to the forum even if it’s not chosen. Thanks again, SINCERELY,TAC.

So, crazy enough, I don't have very many pictures of my bike. But I have shared the 4 decent pictures I do have of her. I am simply throwing my hat in the ring and wanting to share a little bit about how my bike went from all stock to the beautiful machine it is now. There is still much more to do to her, and all from/ with the parts that I had aquired from a fellow Forum Member's bike. Some of you may know him, some may not.
Last year, shortly after purchasing Big Red (now known as Big Booty Judy), I also purchased another Warrior. A Warrior from the one and only RColigan2. I made a post on the FB Group after acquiring my Red Warrior earlier on with a list of things I was after for my Warrior Build. 260 Rear, Hidden Caliper, KyleNV Engine Mount, VBAK, etc. Well, Robert commented on that post. And less than two weeks later, his Warrior was with me in Florida. And Less than two weeks after that, his 260 Rear Wheel, Swingarm, Hidden Caliper, Eibach 1000lb Spring and Custom Seat were on my Warrior. Unfortunately, life prevented me from putting more of his parts on/in my bike, but over the winter this year his parts will be installed. (Parts like his VBAK, Akitadog Coil Relocation Plate, Midnight Speedometer, Midnight Tachometer, custom Drybreak, etc)
I told him that I would refurbish and reuse as much from his bike as I can so that it can help keep his Warrior alive. So I can't wait for my bike to really take shape later on this year and share the pictures next year to this Quarterly Event as it progresses.

This is RCOLIGAN2'S bike arriving at my garage unit (July 2021), where literally the next day I began the process of removing all the damaged parts and then taking off the bike's beautiful 260 Rear Conversion so the entire assembly can be acid washed and then powder coated for use on the Red '08.

Rob is such a great person, I miss having him hanging around with us as much. It's awesome to know that some of his top-end mods will be running roads on your Beast. :)

Not sure if I have enough posts to be eligible, but I would like to add "The Phoenix" into the mix if possible... been working on her for 5 years and just finished (for now) earlier this year. All the pieces were custom, hand made with 3D flames by our very own Cristok. He is awesome at what he does, the flames are painted in a Harlequin color shifting paint.

This past summer, I did some more work customizing my 06 Warrior. I installed a new oil pressure gauge, and installed the Inferno T-Drag bars, along with new hand grips, new Joker Mirrors, and I custom made a leather braid with several types of beads, along with 3 different types of feathers (Red Tail Hawk, Copper Hawk and E-gle) to hang from the handle bar. With gas prices heading higher, I made the decision to add the Saddleman Blue Flame Stitched Saddle Bags, to turn the Warrior into a workhorse hauling groceries. I have other upgrades on my list to do next Spring. The odometer just turned 11,000 miles, plenty of life left in the beast:cool:
