This past summer, I worked on customizing my 06 Warrior. I installed a new oil pressure gauge, and installed the Inferno T-Drag bars, along with new hand grips, new Joker Mirrors, and I custom made a leather braid with several types of beads, along with 3 different types of feathers (Red Tail Hawk, Copper Hawk and E-gle) to hang from the handle bar. With gas prices heading higher, I made the decision to add the Saddleman Blue Flame Stitched Saddle Bags, to turn the Warrior into a workhorse hauling groceries. I have other upgrades on my list to do next Spring. The odometer just turned 11,000 miles, plenty of life left in the beast:cool:
Hey,

I thought about getting the Silver Flame Stitched for my '07.

What size are those bags? Large or Jumbo? And what bag supports/brackets did you use, if any?

Lastly, can you post a side view pic? I'd like to see her profile with those bags. :)

The biggest saddle bags you can mount on the Warrior is 'Large'. The jumbo size would hang down to far and rub against the rear wheel drive sprocket. With the Large size, the bottom of the bag clears by a few inches.

It takes some effort/time to figure out the length of the leather strap bibs to drape over the fender. I had to cut the excess length off, and then punch new holes thru the bibs, and then feed leather strings thru the bibs to tie secure the bags at the right length. You will also have to drill holes thru the back of the bags to secure them against the support bracket. I used a white marker stencile to draw a line below the bracket frame for my guide line to drill holes. Hopefully this info will save you sometime setting the bags to the right length.

I bought the brackets off eBay a few years ago. I remember they offer the support brackets in black or chrome.

I had to remove/sacrifice the passenger back rest in order to mount the frame support for the saddle bags.

Sorry, I don't have a side photo of the bags on file right now. But they look sharp..

Here's some more of mine from Friday. Outside Ouray, CO at the start of US-550, the "Million Dollar Highway", otherwise known as "America's Most Dangerous Road". The pics you see on the Google link of the road along the cliff edge starts up that road just beyond where my bike sits. It'll be snowing up there tomorrow.

As promised, I'm bringing back the Warrior of the [time period] thread! It's great seeing everyone's ride and what all they've done to them over they years, or seeing a bone stock one still in good shape! All positive vibes here!

I'm working on a reward but haven't gotten there yet. I'll update when I have something concrete to share.
Award update: Winner will receive one year of premium membership and a WoQ profile badge!

So, some ground rules:
  1. You have to be a member with at least 20 posts to be considered during voting.
  2. Winners of the previous 4 quarters are not eligible during voting.
  3. You can only post pictures of YOUR bike. You can request someone else to post pics of their bike, but that member has to do the posting.
  4. You can post up to 5 photos of your bike that you'd like to have considered.
  5. Voting will be open for the last two weeks of each quarter. I'll do my best to keep on schedule.
  6. Ties will be broken by whoever was first to post. For instance, if post 6 and 13 tie in the voting, post 6 member takes it home.
  7. Keep the chatter to a minimum. Since this will be by the quarter, the thread needs to be reasonably browsable during voting.
  8. Future competitions will have themes, but the last quarter will always be open and "theme-less".
So, lets see those Warriors! I know there are some sexy beasts out there!
so maybe I missed it but is there a post where we can vote? or are you waiting to compile a list of all the entries?

Voting will be live towards the end of the submission period. My plan is the last half of the last month, at which time submissions will no longer be accepted.

Bro that's amazing. What maintenance have you had to do? Impressed!!!
Thanks :). Maintenance has been the usual oil and filter change every 5000km but of late I have rebuilt the master front brake cylinder and replace the sight glass. Blacked out most the aluminum and chrome parts due to corrosion and I have found that the engine parts that have o-ring seal have been leaking so I went through and replaced what I could find, now I have no leaks at all. Most recently the stator had failed and had that rewound.

Not sure if I have enough posts to be eligible, but I would like to add "The Phoenix" into the mix if possible... been working on her for 5 years and just finished (for now) earlier this year. All the pieces were custom, hand made with 3D flames by our very own Cristok. He is awesome at what he does, the flames are painted in a Harlequin color shifting paint. View attachment 258415

That is an incredible paint job.
I like the fact that the gold flames are painted to look 3D.
I can assume that there is at least 10 coats of clear to protect the paint. Well done.

Thank you! The flames are actually 3D, I had them painted in a Harlequin color shifting paint to enhance the effect...

Hello All! I'm so thankful for the enthusiastic participation in this contest! 17 qualifying entries so far! Great job (and great looking bikes!)!

Polling is open! To ensure an unbiased poll is conducted, I've blocked view of polling results for now. I may open that up, though, as votes are cast or if there is interest one way or another. Stay tuned for any updates.

I've updated the polling so you can pick your top three picks! Too many sexy beasts to be limited to just one.
