Dear Community Members,

We are excited to announce that we are live on our new forum platform! We’ve worked hard over the last several months with a leading design and product firm to deliver a cleaner, faster and more engaging experience for you. Our goal is to provide modern design and technology to make the site run faster, smoother and more reliably. All of the valuable content within the community is still here, even though the layout may look different.

A Consistent Experience Across All Devices
The site is optimized for all screen sizes, including mobile. All features are available and ready to use on all devices.

Speed and Reliability Are Key
No one should have to wait for information. This site has been built to be much faster and more reliable, period.

New Homepage Experience
Your home page now features the most active forums, trending discussions, featured showcases, and top contributing members. This will help keep you up to date on what’s happening in your community and eventually become a very personalized experience for our members with all the great content you love surfaced effortlessly for you.

Search
We have introduced new search algorithms, powered by an industry-leading AI platform, that will help you find information faster. We plan to roll out new features to continue improving search, and to power many additional areas of the forum.

Due to the volume of content, our search platform may take some time to complete indexing. During this process, you may see a limited number of posts until indexing has been completed. We appreciate your patience.

Easy to Use and Navigate
We have made the design clean and simple to use. Near the upper right-hand corner of the community, you will see navigation icons.

The first icon is for what’s new on the site.

Clicking on it, by default, will take you to new unread posts. On that page, you can click on additional tabs as well, such as Popular, if you prefer to view active topics.

Clicking the list icon next to “NEW” will bring you to the full forum listing.

You can also navigate by clicking the 3 vertical dots.

Clicking on your avatar will give you a drop-down menu for all things related to your account.

Dark Mode
We have introduced Dark Mode. One of our favorite features allows you to access the site with a power-saving, and easier on the eyes dark mode. You can access it in the drop-down menu under the 3 vertical dots.

Save Bookmarks
Now you can save your favorite discussion threads and posts! Bookmarks are a handy way to remember and easily find great content or stuff you want to read later.

We also wanted to make it easier for new users to understand the lingo of forums. We have cleaned up various language to more commonly recognized phrases including:
  • Following - Thread subscriptions, and Watched are now known as Following
  • Conversations – Private Messages or PMs are now conversations and can be accessed from the user avatar drop-down in the main navigation
  • Showcase – Showcase is designed for users to "showcase" items/projects through the use of uploaded images, text descriptions and custom content categories. It’s a way to visually and textually provide detailed information on the content you wish to share. The showcase would be similar to a catalog, whereas the gallery would be like a photo album. It can be accessed from the drop-down menu with the 3 dots.
These are just a few of the great new functions and features to try on the site. Take a tour and look around! If you have any questions, please check out the HELP section for some quick FAQs about the new platform - Help Section

Please let us know what you think about the new experience. Your feedback is important to us.

Thank you all for your support during this amazing journey!

I will be here during your transition to the new platform, to help with any questions, help with navigation or how to do things, and to listen to your feedback so please don't hesitate to holler at me. I want to help.

I do want to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Cricket. When I was born, my father told his friends I was the ugliest baby he had ever seen, and that I sounded just like a cricket (I was born with the hiccups.) so yes, I have been Cricket for 58 years now. I live just outside of San Antonio, Texas. I spend most of my time off out in nature and exploring the back roads. During late autumn when it starts to finally cool down, I disappear from the world for a bit for camping trips and hiking.

Please don't be afraid to explore and test out things to see how they work on the site.

Although you can certainly use the "insert image" icon to upload an image to your post, you can also just drag and drop it to the text editor or even copy/paste it into there!
247140

You can easily share videos just by adding the URL directly into the text editor!

Gif links from sites like giphy.com will display automatically just by adding the gif URL directly in the text editor. Try it!

I am also a huge fan of the dark mode for the community. What is your favorite feature?

We will be seeing weekly updates (approximately) to the site which are largely based on community feedback so we absolutely want to hear your feedback!

I have worked with VerticalScope for 5 years but I have worked with forum communities for closer to two decades. I won't always know the answers to your questions, but I can find someone who does, as needed. ;)

Same here Christopher. It's Too different. Just way too different. I have a feeling were gonna loose allot of members.
It's more like an app now and that's not what or how we wanted it. There's tapatalk for that. All my 'Bike' info is gone in my home profile aswell.

Like most of us, I am a creature of habit, so it takes me a bit to get used to changes. (I was more than a little grumpy about it all at first.) I was lucky enough to get the chance to play with the new platform before they went live with it so I am already getting used to it.

We will be seeing weekly updates (approximately) that are largely fueled by community feedback. While that doesn't mean we can action every request, it does mean we are actively listening to the feedback and sharing it with the developers.

Yeah, I get that it's something to get used to. And can't go back on.

Well here's a few concerns and I'm sure many more will bring up sooner or later.
1- Our Badges are missing. As in the Lifetime member, EOB, WOR etc. It does say premium member in the place of the Lifetime member badge but it's not a badge we took pride in having and paying for.
2- Our Bike Tab in our profile is missing and many of us have had lots on info there over the years and I just finished adding info to it not to long ago.
3- Our signature Pics are missing. Not our profile pics but the pics in with our signatures.
Lots of us members valued these 3 things for Many years.

Maybe even the Contact info tab.

I'm sure many of us would appreciate these being brought back.

I'm used to this layout due to being signed up on 600rr.net and hondashadow.net. It's easy to get used to after awhile.

You may need to add a Showcase to add all the information about your bike, along with images. As soon as 5 people have done this, it will be featured on the homepage.

How to Create a Showcase?

From the navigation, near the upper right-hand corner, click the 3 vertical dots to open the drop-down menu and select “Showcase”.

From the Showcase page, click on “Add item” in the right-hand corner.

A popup will appear at the top. Click on “showcase”.

A form will open for you to fill in the blanks, such as title, tags, general information, etc.

Scroll down to “General Information” to content and images, in the same way that you would for writing a post. The first image added will be the cover photo.

Add any additional item details, and “Save”.

If you want to make any changes, including choosing a different cover photo from the images you added, you can do so by editing your showcase.

Is there an Active Topics url as in the past?
How To Find New Posts

Near the upper right-hand corner of the community, you will see navigation icons.

The first icon is for what’s new on the site.

Clicking on it, by default, will take you to new unread posts.

On that page, you can click on additional tabs as well, such as Popular, if you prefer to view active topics. You can also mark all as read.

Our signature Pics are missing. Not our profile pics but the pics in with our signatures.
You may need to re-upload your signature image.

How To Create A Signature

Your signature can include up to 4 lines, a maximum of 1000 characters and one link. An image counts as a line. Anytime you hit "enter" on your keyboard, it will automatically go to a new line. Images will automatically be resized to 300 x 200 pixels. You can see more options in your settings to collapse signatures, always view full signature, or to not see signatures at all. The choice is yours.

Both guests and members can view signatures.

If a user has their preferences set to the default they will see collapsed signatures as in the example below for them. (They can click to see more.)

If a user has their preferences set to always show expanded signatures it will look like the example below for them. Your image can be clicked to view full size.

If you want to adjust your preferences for signatures you can click on your avatar near the upper right-hand corner of the site and select account settings.

In the left side navigation, you will see an option for preferences. Click it.

Scroll down to content options and select your signature preferences.

Our Badges are missing. As in the Lifetime member, EOB, WOR etc. It does say premium member in the place of the Lifetime member badge but it's not a badge we took pride in having and paying for.
The developers are working on improving trophies to include more with special achievements such as what you have mentioned.

Maybe even the Contact info tab.
The is a link on each profile to start a private conversation with you.

Pop up ads suck. FYI the Warrior motorcycle has not been produced for 11 years this forum has been dying a very slow & painful death ever since Yamaha quit manufacturing it.
Good luck with the new "Going live" deal.

I agree with what has already been posted by others. Plus see below.

Hopefully we can remind that this started and has remained a technical forum with strong participative members helping all comers and each-other. We need ways to quickly know who is new, and we need simple things to speed helping identify what-is-wrong with someone's Warrior someplace else around the planet. So many have multiple links to helpful forum threads in our signatures, now we can have only one, that needs to expand in order for senior technical members to avoid having to repeat the same information dozens of times a week. We members here are unpaid. We help because we love the bike. If tools make it hard to help others, then helpful senior members may reduce time spent here. Meaning new members will not get answers here so will go elsewhere.

I am among those here who have spent my own money over these many years to 'care and maintain' the Brotherhood we feel here, with raffles and prizes and give-aways and all sorts of events that we did ourselves without even a momentary thought.

Plus I agree that our Profile's BIKE Tab data is critical, and many might not have backup so the Forum needs to get that data back into each member's hands. Mine included. I added info to mine subsequent to my most recent update. Its all text. Hopefully the new Showcase function will accomodate a lot of text too. That BIKE Tab is where we encourage new members asking for help to populate their bike's mods, its critical to trouble shooting by internet.

We used private messages that are now conversations, cool. But we relied on public messages too, they seem to be gone.

The home page showed new members and also who is online, right in a spot we could tap and visit all, and now its burdensome (and less fruitful).

Our Friends list is gone. I like being able to tap and go to their profile. It saves huge amounts of time.

This is my thinking after just part of a day browsing and trying to get some moderating done with fewer tools plus time to visit and participate. I am certain it will get easier with time.

But I have to wonder how we will still have a technical forum if the software does not support what is needed to let members help troubleshoot by internet, and maybe have some fun hanging-out with our Brothers.

Thanks for anything you can do.

Change is always hard. The truth is when I first saw the new platform back in May I about had a heart attack but once I got used to it, I started liking it. Working with this platform for around 9 months now, I have watched sites grow and thrive after about 60 days or so. I can't change link restrictions in signatures, but I can help with ways for you to save important information that may help y'all.

How To Save (Bookmark) Threads Or Posts

This is a great option for those times when you want to save a thread to come back to later. At the bottom of the post, you will see “save”. Click on it.

Once you click on it you can add any notes to remind yourself and then simply click to save.

When you are ready to find the saved bookmarks again later, from the navigation, near the upper right-hand corner, click on your avatar to open the drop-down menu and select “bookmarks”.

The Showcase function will provide ample room for content, including plain text. There is a text editor, just like we have for posts.

We used private messages that are now conversations, cool. But we relied on public messages too, they seem to be gone.
Unfortunately, I believe they are going to stick with "conversations" (private messages) rather than public profile messages.

The home page showed new members and also who is online, right in a spot we could tap and visit all, and now its burdensome (and less fruitful).
I know it is an adjustment to have to click to view new members and who's online now, but all the information is still here.

Our Friends list is gone. I like being able to tap and go to their profile. It saves huge amounts of time.
Your friends list is not gone. Click on the "about" tab on your profile. Then scroll down.

In my humble opinion, the strength of a quality forum community has never been about the platform. It's about folks like you who come together to help, share information, pictures, and more with each other and along the way, true friendships are built.

We will be seeing weekly updates (approximately) that are largely fueled by community feedback. While that doesn't mean we can action every request, it does mean we are actively listening to the feedback and sharing it with the developers. We won't get where we need to be overnight, but week by week, we will get there.
