Default DIY: Smoke your turn signals. 30 min and $3 bucks

This is a very simple and cost effective mod. You will need a large sauce pan to boil water and a pack of black RIT dye (powder or liquid it doesn't matter).

1. Start to boil water in a large sauce pan ( make sure it's not filled to the top or dye will splash out).

2. While you're waiting for it to come to a boil remove your clear plastic turn signal lens by removing the two screws on each one. Remove the rubber o-ring if it comes off with the lens.

3. Once your water is at a boil, add one pack or bottle of black RIT dye. Stir it around for 15-20 seconds.

4. Add all four lenses at the same time to ensure that they come out identical.

5. As the water is boiling the lenses should be bobbing around at the bottom. Lightly stir every minute or so.

6. I left mine in for about four minutes. After you're happy with the shade of smoke pull them out with tongs and rinse off in water.

7. Install them back on the bike and drink a beer!

Huh, who knew? I may have to do this for the Midnight and another black bike I have. Sweet, thanks!

looks great. if you are afraid to boil water you can also get the duplicolor paint that is made to smoke out plastic but it is a bit more expensive.

RIT dye is used to dye worn clothes. It can be found at Walmart, Kmart, etc. in the section with Laundry detergent. I've also tried the spray can tint, but I favor the RIT dye way.
