Well, I bought my very first accessory for my new to me '07 Midnight Warrior and I need help solving a problem. I bought a new boulevard windshield off ebay and it did not include a right and left side mounting plates.....but two left side plates. The box was not sealed, but the brackets, etc. were sealed in their packaging. Anyone have any ideas how to mount the windshield without the plates?

I checked with the seller and the other plate is not available. I suppose I could try to get the part from Yamaha, but I don't want to spend any more $$ on this as I got a pretty good deal.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Those brackets are expensive and hard to find separate, so there is zero savings unless the set is complete imo. I don't understand why the seller can't provide the correct monting plates, but no worries because ebay has buyer protections.

You'll need the correct mounting hardware for whatever shield you choose. Finding the correct hardware now will be VERY difficult. This is why you got such a good "deal" The seller simply passed on the problem to you at a discounted rate. I would try Yamaha obviously but don't count on it.

THAT SUCKS! I freekin hate Steal Bay! I even dislike them more than the Stealer. Unfortunatly I can't help you out.

I don't mean to steal your thread, but I can give you some advice.

Try to get parts off of 4M members. I have bought so many parts off the 4M that I could almost build another bike. Seats, Pipes, Wheels, Pegs, controls, a tank, a fairing, Tail light assy, Etc, Etc.

Just keep on looking, the parts you want will show up. Sooner than you think!

AZwarrior has a great members listing, if the persons name is on it, 10 to 1 this person is a stand up person.

If it wasn't called out in the auction, that there was 2 left sides plates then they need to take it back. file a claim with ebay, you might luck out and get a free item.

in a pinch, you could just get some bigger washers in place of the plate. that'd be the easiest, quickest but least attractive option. or if you have access to the right tools/materials/skills, make your own plate(or set of plates). or wait for the guy who got two right plates to post up and trade with him. or try talking with ebay, explain the situation and see if they can't resolve (ie refund) the issue. you'll be better off putting quarters in a gumball machine hoping to find the plate than waiting for Yamaha to come through though.

Those plates mount to the tach housing and are almost identical other than which way they curve. You sure you have 2 left? Anyway, as Lagalaxy says, if it was not mentioned in the auction they have to take it back or you can file a claim with paypal/ebay to get your money back.
