The Great Members list was originally Pioneered by Bo (lagalaxy8). With his blessing I've been taking care of it awhile now.

I'd like to hold a forum election to elect someone to take this topic over starting January 2012. Does anyone have suggestions of who we can ask, or would anyone like to toss their hat into the ring? If I were voting for someone I'd probably look for at least a year participating on the forum, but you'd each have to make your own decisions on what qualifies someone to manage this to your benefit.

With this new forum, I am simply keeping a .TXT file on my computer, updating it around the end of each month, and then I just edit my original (top #1) post and delete the exisiting then copy/paste the new text. Its easier than it has ever been in the past, and loads much faster. Then I write a standard 'divider' post so I know everything above that point has already been added to the list.

The person managing this should understand its importance: nearly all of us look at this list when deciding who to buy from and sell-to. Its as important as the other factors we take into consideration. So the manager should be someone who will take it seriously, and take care to check each candidate's name for spelling and to be sure its an actual member, and take what steps are possible to keep it current and updated.

What do you think, do you want to nominate a member for the chore, or do you want to volunteer your name?

NOTE: This isn't managed by the forum, I've done it for love of the bike and to help. Nobody gets paid, its not about money.

randy_ny was awesome to deal with. I paid on day 1, he shipped on day 2, I received on day 4. From NY to MN. You just can't beat that at all. Excellent guy to deal with, and his communication was top shelf.

 

I plan to turn this topic over to the new Topic Manager, to be announced soon. I realize that more nominations will be posted before the swap occurs, and when the time comes I will add every nominated member name, and finish with my usual divider-post at the end, so nobody is skipped.

My thanks to everyone for everything you've done to make this a great place to acknowledge Great Members.

It seems best to keep the year 2011 separate due to the annual format, so I'll stay at-it until December 31st 2011. Adding mgiguere20 who had some take-off parts to give away and was kind enough to send some my way. He provided shipment tracking right away and everything went smoooooooth. I sometimes loose faith in people since I have been a Corrections Officer for more than 17 years. I was having trouble fabbing a part to hold on the left side cover I bought on E Bay. I ended up fabbing it but if you looked under the scoop you might hurl! LOL! A forum member came to my rescue offering me the stock bracket for nothing. Yes, nothing. He said he didn't need it anymore and would be happy to see it get used by someone that needed it. It may sound like a simple thing to most but I really appreciate the kindness of Scawein. It motivates me to be a bit more like him. I guess I just got a boost in the faith department. Sorry for the long story but I had to tell it. I love this forum.
