This place did a sub standard job on the air horns I manufacture. I did not call & complain, they called to see how I liked them & when I told them they were sub standard the owner said to send the bad pieces back & he would use a different process & get them back to me overnight. That was the begining of March. So far he has told me (befor Easter) he will take them to UPS himself that afternoon. Then he tells me he left them outside the door for UPS when he went to lunch & they were gone when he got back. The secretary tells me they were shipped Fedex & gives me a bogus tracking #. I have left numerous messages on their voice mail & they have not returned my calls. I have a lot of money invested in the parts & just want them back with or without chrome. I did pay for the chrome work.

Need some help/suggestions on how to get my parts back. I would take care of it personally but its a 2400 mile round trip.

This is the place thats putting the screws to me.

Conroe is just north of Houston - have an aunt and uncle that live (don't speak them though - long story). Anyway, hopefully someone from the Houston area can help you out. It sucks when you ship stuff out and then get lies and don't hear from them. Now that I think of it, I called a chromer in San Antonio and they said they shipped their stuff to eith Dallas or Houston. I'm thinking Houston. From what I understand there aren't that many Chromers in TX because of the EPA regs - really tough out here.

I'm a couple of hours away but I'll be in that area on the 12th of May (dropping the wife off at the airport). nitrors4 is probably the closest but there are a few members in the north houston area hopefully they will see this and chime in. I'll keep checking back, if you can wait and no one has solved it by then, I'd be more than happy to go by and see for you.

Did you get a delivery confirmation when you sent them back? Once the parts are in the chromer's possession it would seem they are responsible for them, stolen, lost in shipping to you, destroyed or "misplaced." Check with the local TX. police, attorney general, consumer protection/fraud, they may have some complaints against them already. Criminal complaint carries more weight than civil ones.

Went through a similar deal three years ago. Shop kept delaying delivery, then chrome was crap. They took back the pieces to redo but kept putting it off. This delayed the whole car. Finally went with two big friends to get parts. Chromer called police and police said we couldn't take the parts without paying. It was like paying ransom for my own parts, some of which they had damaged beyond use. Took 'em to small claims court and won.

Good luck.

ps. They guy's gf was named Misty.

I think someone needs to grab the guy and Shake alittle.... Let him know that we will protest one of his events unless your item is returned or money for the entire investment is.. He seems to brag about his work..

Just a thought when I send something out I pay for return shipping too.. That way I can track both ways and have insurance both ways too..

I don't know if it'd do any good, but I followed the link and sent them an e-mail.
I just let them know that everyone I know will hear about how they are treating Churchkey (Woody), and that I hope they will decide to make it right.
Maybe if ALL of us sent them an e-mail they would think about it.
Here is what I sent them.
I have heard that you are having a problem returning some parts that belong to a friend of mine named Woody, who lives in Fla.
I can assure you that if you do not make this right, you will miss out on quite a bit of bussiness.
This man has many friends who spend a lot of money customising motorcycles and cars all over the country. I have no doubt he could steer a lot of bussiness your way, if he was so inclined.
I hope you will see it is in your best interest to resolve this matter quickly.
Thankyou,
Joe

Woody, my work makes runs down to Houston all the time. If this isn't resolved by the next run, I'll try and get on that run and go down there and have a chit-chat with them.

Cadman, Yep, must be the same place, this guys "secretary" is named Misty.

Thanks for the support & info guys. I'll keep you informed of the situation.

I would like to chit chat with that liar myself.

Hey Churchkey,
I work in north Houston and can make a run into Conroe and "talk" to this guy leter this week. Info that would help me is any receipt #, or job numbers they may have assigned, or even that boguss tracking number they sent you. PM me anything you think will help and I'll take a shot at this for you.

Any other Houston boys want in on this action?

Talked to the liar yesterday. He said he did not have my parts & that Fedex screwed up.

Before Easter he told me he was taking them to UPS himself that afternoon. When I did not get the parts he said he set them outside for UPS to pick up & they were gone when he got back from lunch. Then the secretary says they were shipped Fedex & gives me a bogus shipping # that is for a swingarm, which by the way they shipped to the wrong address & it was on its way back to them. Here's the bad tracking # 605237210000400 Its on the www.fedex.com web site.

When I returned the parts on 3-6-06 I used Fedex. Tracking # 210779600004897. Parts were delivered to them on 3-9-06 & signed for by MLARZU.

You guys work for food & beverage? :~)

Hey Randyyyyyy,
I went by and visited with them and pm'd Church late friday. I was able to get the right tracking number and an explanation from them. The part was sent Fedex, but has disapeared from the system.

In short, they are switching from Fedex to UPS because they have had to file several claims with Fedex for lost or damaged items in the last couple of months. They were helpful and want to make good on this. I think having someone actually walk into their shop and talk to both Vance and Misti (at Vanguard) at the same time helped sort some of the confusion and they can now work on finding the part or getting it replaced.

I once read that the USPS loses 50,000 pieces of Mail everyday and that UPS and Fed Ex Statistically weren't that far behind.. I do however believe this sounds like a Poor business system than Fed x problems..

I will agree with you on that note. But they showed me the open claims with fedex for lost packages and a damaged motorcycle frame that they are in arbitration with Fedex about as well.

I'm not defending these guys but because they said they wanted to make good on this with Church and get this settled as quickly as possible, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. And you can bet that if they drop the ball on this, it'll be posted here!!!
