I love it when people say....What is that? I think thats the best part of owning a Warrior. It's a different breed that begs for attention in it's own way. have had many nice complements from the HD group....and others too.

 

I was at a bike blessing last weekend with jshram. Mostly Harleys. The Jesse James custom got the most attention but our two Warriors weren't far behind. The real bikers out there appreciate a work of art/engineering when they see it!!

 

Just tell them that it's a 1000cc Yamaha and it runs pretty good for such a huge bike.

 

Naw, just tell it was only 10 grand and watch them cry.

 

You hear alot of folks who say that all metric cruisers are trying to look like Harleys but not one of them can honestly say that about the Warrior. It isn't trying to be anything but bad, and it has an easy time doin it.

 

I wish Yamaha would just go ahead and drop the 'Star' part of the name. Maybe they will in '05 and we'll all have collectors' items!

 

One of the reasons I bought the warrior is that it is not trying to imitate the harley or anyother cruiser for that matter, good to be different and the attention is amazing. Yesterday a truckie complete with riding patch walked accross a parking lot to come over and say "that is one f***in awesome ride", he didn't bother asking what it was but used several expletives to explain how impressed he was with the styling! I have the standard exhaust on still too, I think I will always stick with the single can, possibly going for a stg IV in time simply because you wouldn't normally see one on a cruiser. Beg to be different I say.

 

I try not to mention the price unless they are pissing me off... By the look on their face it hurts too bad!

 

[/emoticons/emotion-1.gif]Here in Central Fla, HD's are a dime a dozen... pretty much all my friends ride something overpriced. I NEVER EVER rub their noses in how fast my baby is... or how much less I had to spend.

But when we park to go to dinner, or anywhere... people (citizens) will walk through a crowd of HD's to look at my Warrior.
People shout at me in traffic to ask what it is.
Last week a pedestrian almost got killed for looking over his shoulder at my bike while he crossed the street.[/emoticons/emotion-5.gif]

I second the comments above. It's hard to see adults coming close to tears after our styling magnets bring them over and the suppressed feeling that they were taken for a ride makes them ask how much we paid for the Warrior. Best of all, they can't justify a sense of superiority by saying that the Warrior is just another Harley wanna be.

 

We (Spirit Riders) put on a charity ride and bike show today. There were some very nice metrics and Harleys in attendance. One was a frame up custom. When we were in the line-up, waiting to get started on the ride, and then again after we arrived at our destination, I noticed that my Warrior kept drawing crowds of two or three guys at a time. One guy went and brought his wife over to take a look.

Kind'a funny with all the chromed-out Harleys in attendance. They didn't seem to have the same drawing power. [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

One other quick story: A friend (I'll call him "G") at work just bought an `04. He had another friend, who is a Harley rider, ride it home from the dealer, `cause "G" hadn't had time to go to the DMV to get his license. Well, by the time they got to my "G's" house, the Harley dude was evidently already planning how he needed to "improve" his bike, so it could match up to the 2004 Warrior. (My friend is a new member here, so he can vouch for this if he reads this thread).

We all like the Warrior and word is getting around.

(Too bad Yamaha may ultimately spoil the fun with their poor management skills.)

 

It really is amazing, I have only had mine for about a month now, and the amount of questions I get surprises me. I had my bike parked on a sidewalk in Philly this weekend, and when I was ready to leave, I had 3 people standing around looking at her. I stayed there for 30 min answering questions, everyone is so interested. This one dude was like "wow that is awesome, what is that? a 1200? I scoffed at his statement. I told him it was a 1670 and he about shat himself. Guess what? He owns a 1200 HD Sportster..hahahaha

 

No doubt the Warrior is a unique scoot. Out riding with a friend on a '02 HD Springer (with lots of eye-candy), He seemed peeved that while we were at Sevs having cofee that everyone was interested in the Warrior.

 

Hello everybody.This is my first time posting.I'm the person Spear Warrior was referring to in his post.When we got home from the dealer my buddy got off the bike hanging his head.When I asked him what was wrong he said he now realizes that his bike has no power.I rode with him for about 4 hours on Sunday and about half way through the ride he told me that he was having a hard time keeping up with me from the red lights.
I also get the comments and questions at the gas stations and red lights.Most people want to know what it is and then say "Man that's a bad looking bike."Tears my buddy up when they don't pay him any attention.

 

Same thing always happens to me. I ride with a guy that has a Road King. They never look at his $20,000 bike just my little $10,000 bike. He just got some straight pipes for his. He said they might not look at my bike but they sure in **** will hear it now!!

Get the same for yours and see which they look at!

 

I also ride with a friend that rides a Road King, heard him tell his Harley friends that all he could see was my tail lights and I just getting farther away and he couldn't catch me, go figure!

 

I was at a Burger King in Iowa when I noticed a couple of "bikers" walk in. They pretty much ignored me. When I went outside I figured out why. There was a brand new (still had paper tags) V-Rod parked next to my warrior. Long story short while I was getting on my leathers the other guys came out then a couple of the employees that were out having a smoke came over to my bike (walking right by his) to tell me how much of a bad a$$ bike I had. Perfect timing. The look on his face was priceless, like someone told him he had an ugly girlfriend or something. I was hoping for a race but he just left with his lip stuck out.

I had a guy come up to me at a local bike gathering, he told me he had bought a new VTX 1800 C a couple of months ago. The week before he had taken a Warrior for a spin, now he was considering selling the X and get a Warrior instead [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]. He could not believe the handling of the Warrior.

All I could do was to tell him he wouldn't regret it…

 

I told my father I'd bring the warrior down and we'd go to bike week in daytona next year. Prolly just for a day though. He has a harley low rider. Tells me his friends with Road Stars are difficult to keep up with and that the Yamaha's are nice bikes but that they will never hold their value like a harley does. Says he can sell his bike for almost as much as he paid for it.

I told him if I put as much into chrome and mods that he did to almost keep up with a RoadStar I could probably get close to what I paid for the Yammy after a few years too.


Truth be told I'm not allowed to get another bike so I'm gonna ride this one to it falls apart. So resale value was never an option anyway.

At anyrate it's gonna be fun to go riding with my dad. Never thought I would ever do that.

 

Saturday, the first time I took it out in public I had two dirrerent pepole come up to look at it with their chins down to their belly buttons. One guy actually knew what it was but he couldn't get over how good it looked in person. He had only seen it in pictures before that.

 

I have to agree. Every where I go people want to know what it is. I was at a gas station one time and these two guys were one their hands and knees checking my RSW out. They were saying what an awsome bike it was, we've never seen anything like that before. I have people all the time asking what is that an 1100. I always reply, no its 102 cubic inch. The common response I usually get, ****!!! My dad has a Heritage and it is a nice bike but there is no comparison for me. Most Harleys are just a status symbol, but the RSW gets peoples attention because there is nothing else like it, anywhere.

 

i just hate the ones that look down on the warrior and say what is that?? pisses me off. like it is some kind of abomination to the biker world while they are on harleys. it's always them that say that in that tone. some r jealous, some r actually so arrogant that they can't c past their noses in the air. would like to smack the nose a little.[/emoticons/emotion-5.gif]can't stand arrogance!!!did i spell that right???ha![:I]

Either it took me two years to notice or this is something as of late, but I've been getting comments from guys in cars, while on the road, to other riders from both metric and non-metric camps. Just the other day a group of pre-teens surrounded me at a gas pump. I do remember 2 years ago a custom bike builder looked over my bike and all he could say -emphatically- was, "sick"!

 

The Warrior is truly a "DUDE MAGNET".I think I'll get an old cb 750 so I can go for a ride without attracting attention.
