I'm starting this thread to track my progress over the winter. Last night I took of the tank, fenders, and side covers. Just as I finished getting it apart, it started snowing. I'll take that as a good sign that my timing is good for winter mods.

So here are the plans (If the $ allows)
- Paint (motivated by thedink's awesome Warrior that is for sale)
- Rear clean up
- Left side clean up
- Right side clean up
- Powdercoating (wheels, exhaust, and some misc parts)
- And maybe the hidden caliper

I'll get some pics after lunch

Thanks guys.

Yeah, when I kept reading the Barons instructions over and over, it gave me a headache. "Reassemble top of shock with callar and bolt supplied" Then, "reattach shock to frame" Huh???? At this point I sat back, took a long sip of beer, and said, "I see how this is suppose to work. F**K these instructions"

Do you have california emissons equipment on your bike? Or is that an oil cooler? you should run the tank vent lines along the inside of your tank to the back of the bike and clean up the frame. If you look at the pic you can see where my vent line has a 90 degree bend this runs to a barbed T hose fitting connecting the two vent line together and then runs along the backbone down and out the back down to the ground. All you really need to buy is the T fitting I just cut and reused the original vent lines and used one more splice hose fitting to make the vent line long enough or you can just buy a longer hose. You can see where the vent line runs along the fuel line by the seat.In this pic you can see the end of my hose vent line dangling by the belt guard this is only because im still installing the pulley cover and haven't repositioned it. very clean you'll like the result.

Didn't think it was emissions seeing that you live in Alabama. The mod list just never ends. Relocating the vent lines really is an easy thing to do and nows the best time to do it with everything apart. Btw that paint job is one of the nicest flame jobs i've ever seen! I love the blue.

Ok guys, I need your help. Did a test run with the electrical that I have so far. The only thing left are the front LED turn signals. So I plugged everything up and hit the switch...

Everything worked!!!!!

However, my custom dynamics integrated tail light is flashing rapidly. I installed the load equalizer as directed. I don't mind the rapid flash. But will it do any harm? Any ideas?

It would not be the first time a supplied load equalizer was bad. But if helpful you can post a pic of the equalizer installed, or a sketch.

As for fast-flash, mine's been there for years with zero troubles. Knock on Chrome.

Well.... if you installed the L.E. properly, you shouldn't have a fast flash... so....

But having been a big help there, I can say that it won't hurt to rapid flash -I never installed one, and I have the same taillight. You need to be aware though that you have to shut the bike down by using the key. If you use the kill switch, you will probably experience the Click Of Death, which can kill your battery over time.

On my marauder 800 I installed front and rear led signals and had to wire six load resistors in to get them to flash at normal rate( three left, three right). The real science is figuring out how much "load" needs to go back into the circuit so these universal L.E's might no be enough on thier own. I say if you bought two sets wire them both in and see what happens.

Ok guys, bear with me. Went home last night and swapped the LE: still fast flash. Hooked up both LEs: fast flash.

Everything I'm reading talks about LEDs with the stock tag light. I removed the tag light. My tag is now lit by LEDs wired straight into the running light wire (blue). Could this be the culprit? And what is the fix?

I am testing this with the integrated taillight and the stock front signals. I will be adding the LED signals to the front when they get here. I'm hoping that the LE in front will prevent the COD.

Motorcycle Trick Flasher Relay
You could try this replace the stock flasher relay with the one custom dynamics sells. I bought one but never got around to installing it. It will most likely fix the fast flash when going to the intergrated tail lights but not sure how it will work with front led's installed. You will also lose the self canceling if you install this relay.
