It's been done at least one other time I can remember. I think the guy ended up getting a new hose to run the distance. The only problem you will run into, as said above, is losing half of your front braking ability.

 

Better looks man! I think it would look much better with the right side removed. And as far as braking ability, it has no equal in the musclecruiser class, it would just be normal as far as braking with one half the front brake. I think the WOW factor would be increased too.

Why notmakeit look twice as good and take off the left side too. Justimagine the "wow" factor with that setup.

 

It was posted a while back that you only lose about 15% of braking.I don't know if that is true or not but mine still stops fine for me.It just seems that you justpull the lever a tad harder.There are several bikes out there that has it that way.

It's not just the fact that you'll be missing one rotor, the slave cylinder to master cylinder ratio will be cut in half. Therefore you're leverage will drop. A lot of guys do this for drag racing, but unless they obtain a new master cylinder their baking suffers severely.

Hey guys. Sorry, this has probably been asked before but I cant find anything on it. Im looking to possibly remove the entire right side front braking assembly. I was wondering if you can just block off the hose up higher and call it a day,

[*]I would suggest a New frt brakeline as the OEM is a 1-pc assembly though it would be possible to cut and plug as req'd![/list]


or will the proportioning be messed up? - You will have a rock hard frt brake lever if you retain the stock 14mm MC w/one caliper

Here's a couple of single rotor WOM's

.... midnight run & dberman .... swapping out the frt OEM MC (14mm)to a smaller bore size will improve thebraking characteristics of the single rotor w/ the stock MC! The smaller bore size will increase the fluid pressure to the single caliper. As you stated braking efficiency will be lost w/ the elimination of 1-rotor. Suggest you do a forum wide Search using these members & braking, etc!

If you ask me, it doesn't ad much to the looks and you really shouldn't take any chances with your safety.

That's Dutch! Where did you get this? It says:


"Wie zijn wij?" translates into "Who are we?"


"Altijd weer lastig die feestadagen" translates into "Always difficult those holidays"

Unless the bike will be totally 100% for show i wouldn't eliminate a rotor. If it's for show only then eliminate both front rotors.

 

im not against you removing half of your front brakes like a lot of guys on here are. to each their own i say. however you didnt mention getting a custom wheel. are you going to give up brake for a stock wheel? makes sense for a cool 21 inch but not for a stocker.

 

Send a pm to ratphlegm. He has that set-up and I'm sure he wouldn't mind discussing it with you. I don't know whether he replaced his caliper or stayed with the stock.

I took my right side off. I am running the stock master cylinder with a single braided line. Your lever is definately harder. No more one or two finger stops. It will stop fast, you just have to grab a handfull. If you are just into cruizing around it will be fine. If you like carving up canyons, stay away from it.
