This past Sunday I was riding in a poker run with a bunch of my sportbike buddies. Well to make a long story short, we were on a straight road and they took off. I decided to see what the warrior would do. I got it up to 120 mph pretty quickly. I was really suprised. I didn't look at the tach, but I do believe it had more in it. The test here is not the bike doing 120. The real test was me being able to hold on at this speed without a windshield.

sailing along at 175-ish on my R1, RR and GSXR's was much less violent than the Warrior at 120+.

i was on the Toys for Tots run over the weekend and it was me, a Heritage Softail, Fat Boy, VTX1300 and a Deuce. after the run, we were en route to grab some lunch and a couple suds and we were rolling at about 80 in I95 when the Heritage decided to go for a full-roll on. then the Deuce joined in and the Fat Boy... well, i was RIGHT next to the Hertiage when he just about ran out of steam--- then i completely walked all the bikes. it was hysterical- the look on their faces was priceless. theyre always impressed.

The mini fairing does seem to help at high speeds. I joined the 130 club this weekend. I don't think it had much more! Figured it was going to be the last ride of the year so I had to give it ****.

Since we are on the subject of illegally riding faster than the speed limit (most of us). Ever notice any of that "front wheel wobble"?
I haven't. [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

The Warrior is one, well made machine.[/emoticons/emotion-4.gif]

Ok lets do some work here. The manual said primary reduction ratio is 72/47=1.531915 Final reduction ratio is 35/32*70/32=2.392578 5th gear ratio is 24/30=.800 Overall ratio in 5th gear is 1.531915*2.392578*.800=2.932181 So to determine the bike's speed relative to engine speed mph=engine rpm multiplied by rear wheel radius, then divided by,overall gear ratio multiplied by 168.
Our stock Warrior has 200/50-17 rear wheel. That's 100mm tall plus half the diameter of 17 inch rim (216mm)you have 316mm. For inches divide into 25.4mm =12.44094 .So back to our formula MPH= 5200(rpm revlimiter not redline)* 12.44094 divided 2.932181*168. (5200*12.44094)/(2.932181*16/emoticons/emotion-11.gif= 131.33mph. Thats the theoretical top speed of the Warrior with stock tires and gearing and 5200 revlimiter. For more info refer to Motorcyclist Magazine June 2003 issue. If your rev/limiter is like Churchkey 5100rpm then your top speed would be 128.80mph. If you have a Stage IV ECU ,that would be 400 rpm more than stock so with 5500rpm, speed is 138.90mph and with 5600rpm is 141.43mph. Any questions???

Oh, oh, I hope you aren't at work doing all that calculation! he he
You didn't figure in "Tail Wind". I rode on the highway with a 25 mph tail wind, and it felt like I had a big windshield, it really reduced drag on me. Had to give me some speed.

I've seen 140 on the speedo, but that was with a massive tail wind and me tucked in as far as I can get. Keep in mind that all of theses speeds being posted are "indicated", not actual. Probably knock off about 5 mph/hour or so would be closer to the truth. Need to find a buddy with a radar gun[/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

I'm with you Hog... see plenty of not so buddies with radar guns. And Penzoil that was tmfw with those calcs... but very interesting... I'll just check the speedometer and accept what it tells me... nah I'm not bone stock. Penzoil are you by chance an engineer or a number cruncher by profession cause I must tip my hat to you!

i've got a memphis shades windsheild and have gone 135 mph before i soilded my britches. i'm convinced it will do every bit of 150. harleys have zero chance of keeping up with a warrior.

Not even downhill with a 50mph tailwind and the speedstar ECU, sorry.

Hi: There is always error on all speedometers after 100mph.
On another topic, our Warrior has a speed sensor for the motor to shut down the over revs. If that don't work then the tb stop sending fuel. First #1 cyl. then #2. I'm trying to fight this. If I find how to override the rev/limit I will post. But remember to change your valves springs. Good Luck!

I have gone much faster on sport bikes, but the warrior makes it feel as if you are moving faster than you really are. There is so much more wind and vibration, not to mention the enexpected foot lift off. Hight speed on the warrior may be harsh, but it sure is fun.
