I think it’s an 11/16” brake master cylinder rebuild kit that you’re going to need. I remember a link shared not too long ago to one but I think it’s what most Harley’s have.

I’ll see if I can find that post.

So…. I’m cleaning out my garage and getting organized and I forgot I was planning on trying to get a Road Star’s front brake master setup on my Warrior to help relocate the reservoir and get rid of the long rod.

I have also considered mounting my Supreme Legends but have short legs and dreaded the reduced pressure…

Now I’m looking at both subassemblies and thought…

I’m pretty sure I could get them to fit. Relocate the reservoir and touch up the master. It could be a pretty clean setup AND easily serviceable!

Many thanks for the useful information, @random_guy! So technically, I only need this part:

Is this correct? I sent you a private message.

I'm quite certain the MC Bore size is 3/4" Dia on the SL & also the Phat's. Lots of press by this writer and many others will confirm this. I'm cognizant of a member stating it to be 11/16" Dia :(
The piston size was originally derived from HD Fwd Ctrl's imo.
Looks like your leak is at the Primary seal which is an O-Ring based on the enclosed linked photo from @random_guy #4. The leak persists when the bike is just sitting, I suspect, and the rear brake is still functional if the reservoir has brake fluid.
EPDM or NBR material should be available for the replacement and is compatible with DOT 4.

I ordered this kit:

Do I need a special brakes fluid for my forward controls? Thank you again for the guidance, I apologize for my lack of knowledge.

@random_guy .... I'm curious if both your MC pistons are frozen in their bore from sitting in storage or did you take steps to prevent this from happening  The hygroscopic properties of old DOT 4 fluid can be damaging.

I will also need a new reservoir cover and maybe the black gasket also? The cover is pitted, the rest of forward controls are in impeccable condition. I’m wondering if there any parts available for that?

Per @alanh’s post #7, he pointed out that it should be 3/4”, not 11/16” as I mistakenly stated.

Also, DOT4 brake fluid for our brake systems. Just echoing what @alanh stated in the same post.

@alanh @random_guy, what’s the correct part to purchase? Do I need the entire repair kit or just the o-ring?

Ebay results: Front Brake Master Cylinder Rebuild Kit 3/4 Harley Davidson for sale | eBay

I don’t have access to the bike now, to open the master cylinder cover and look inside.
3/4”

I found the post where someone claimed the incorrect value of 11/16” but won’t share it here to avoid confusion.

I'm going to say that you'll need to open it up, start taking things apart, then compare to what's online. My life has been hectic the last couple weeks, but it should decompress after this Saturday to where I can get back to working on things. That's the soonest I MIGHT be able to go open mine up and take a look.

When I did a quick search on eBay, I saw a variety of kits: 3/4" Motorcycle Master Brake Rebuild Kit. Without seeing the exact parts, I can't recommend one over another.

What I was wanting to do is to replace the 3/4" master cylinder altogether. Either sleeve it down or completely replace it, but keep the controls and connect them to the replaced master.

Take some pics and share progress. If you do decide on what kit is needed or you find something that works, please share so we can put this topic to rest. ;)
