Hey I like that! I might just do it for myself, those pegs make for a good way to change seating position on long rides but they ARE kinda high...

I would suggest finding some cheaper chrome hardware though, or maybe just buying stainless and polishing it. Ace Hardware isn't exactly cheap on this little specialty stuff. LOL

Yes, sorry I didn't mention that in the first post. I've got V&H Big Shots, this definitely won't work with the stock exhaust. Your exhaust will absolutely limit how how you can get the pegs, mine just happen to let me go all the way down to the bottom of the valley in the frame.

 

Did you just tap the frame?

 

Correct. Ace Hardware didn't have chrome fine pitch metric socket head cap screws, so I had to tap M10x1.5. Just use loctite and it'll be fine, about 1000 miles since the mod and it's rock solid.

OK people.. not that savvy when it comes to DIY life.. How does one "tap" a frame?

Well what you do is drill a hole then you insert your tap to create the threads. The tap will cut threads in the hole. It is not to hard but take your time as it has to be straight. It is all about having the right tools......
